Imagine flipping the script on career assessments and adopting a personalized 9-box model for employees. Instead of just evaluating performance, let's focus on a dual assessment: skills (performance) and environment (potential). A high-potential environment is where success blooms—minimal politics, a supportive manager offering constructive feedback, a company on the rise, and shared values in your role. On the flip side, a low-potential environment stifles even the most talented individuals—misalignment in operations, a feedback-starved manager, stagnant company growth, and a breeding ground for office politics. In a high-potential setting, even an employee facing challenges can develop and thrive. However, in a low-potential scenario, even the most skilled professional may struggle to flourish. Time to rethink career assessments and prioritize the synergy between individual skills and the workplace environment. #CareerAssessment #WorkplacePotential #CareerReflection

Why Job Clarity is Non-Negotiable for New Recruits. My thoughts Have you ever started a new job only to find yourself swimming in a sea of ambiguity? You're not alone. Too often, employers overlook the importance of a well-defined job description, leaving new hires confused and unproductive. But what happens when job roles aren't clearly defined? ❓ How can employees meet expectations if they're unsure what those expectations are? ❓ How can teams function cohesively when roles and responsibilities overlap? ❓ How can an organization thrive when its employees are constantly second-guessing their duties? When job definitions are vague, the impact is felt across the board: - Employee Morale: Uncertainty breeds frustration and disengagement. - Productivity: Time and effort are wasted trying to clarify roles, detracting from actual work. - Retention: Talented employees are likely to leave if they feel unsupported and unclear about their path. As leaders, employers have a responsibility to ensure their new recruits are set up for success from day one. This means providing employees with: - Clear Job Descriptions: Define their responsibilities and how they align with the company's goals. - Structured Onboarding: Offer a comprehensive onboarding process that covers their role in detail. - Ongoing Support: Regular check-ins to ensure they're on track and feel supported. I think investing time in defining roles isn't just beneficial—it's essential. It sets the foundation for a motivated, efficient, and loyal workforce. Employers should try to eliminate confusion and empower their teams with the clarity they deserve. After all, a well-defined job is the first step towards a thriving career. #Leadership #EmployeeEngagement #HR #JobDescription #WorkplaceCulture #Onboarding #CareerDevelopment

Four Tips to Create Peak Performance in the Workplace In today’s highly competitive employment environment, with jobs moving overseas and technology that seems to be evolving every day, one thing that is often overlooked in the workplace is not only how you can hire the best possible employees, but also keep them. Here are four ways to raise the bar in your workplace and create more engaged and productive employees: · Start With the End in Mind – Without a clear picture of where you’re going, it’s awfully hard to create the map to get there. Make sure your employees know what is expected of them and how they fit into your workplace culture. · Don’t Just “Train” Your Employees, Be a Coach – There’s a huge difference between training your employees and coaching them. Clearly, training is a requirement in the workplace, but coaching can make all the difference. · Create Goal-Oriented Performance and Employee Development Systems –Developing career maps, advancement plans and the action plans toward that end gets your employees more engaged in their own processes and provides a clear roadmap that helps them reach their career goals while it helps you reach your company’s goals. · Focus on Interpersonal Communications in the Workplace – “Interpersonal Communications” is just a fancy of saying that we need to develop and cultivate effective communication and social skills in the workplace. This works both ways –between employers and employees. Understanding what motivates employees and creates peak performance in the workplace is a fundamental element to creating success in your business. #SalesExcellence #SalesConsulting #salesdevelopmentrepresentative #salesandretail #SalesDevelopment #Recruitment #Careers #Businesscareer #SalesAnalaysis #FMCG #SalesCareer #Startup #Businesslife #Recruiting #Businessopportunity #Businesscoach #inspiration #hiring #Kuwait_jobs #HumanResources #BusinessStrategy #WorkforceManagment #Salesmanagers

52% of employees say they are watching for or actively seeking a new job (State of the Global Workplace report from Gallup) and only 23% of your workplace are engaged. How is a disengaged workforce impacting your organisation and its customers right now? And how would it impact your organisation if half your staff left? Poor customer service, poor knowledge transfer, increased workloads for those left behind, GDPR risks, losing business to the competitor they joined, brand and reputation, employee morale, uncertainty, and not to mention the £30k+ cost of rehiring per person (time spent on recruitment, advertising, interviews, onboarding, etc.) One of the core focuses of my workplace consultancy is about strengthening the foundations of your organisation and the employee experience. How to be proactive, rather than reactive: - Coaching leaders on resilience, strategies on how to bounce back from adversity - Intentional culture development, looking at what’s working, what’s not, and what’s next - Preparing employees for the future through continuous learning and investment in their growth - Smarter ways of working, using tech to streamline, improve and elevate the way you all work - Gathering data, analysing the results, and acting accordingly; planting the seeds now for the growth you want to see in the future Consultancy is affordable too. No, really. You can have me from an hour to 2 years (like a current client!). It’s all about what your business needs. Let’s have a chat to find out what steps we could put in place to enable your people and organisation to thrive now and into the future: https://lnkd.in/erzEybPD #Workplace #Leadership

Have you ever been promised a promotion that never materialized, or when it did, it came with a new title but no additional responsibilities or pay increase? Ya, that happens a lot, and it is the source of much employee resentment and avoidable turnover. The authors of a recent HBR article propose an interesting solution. Imagine if, instead of receiving those LinkedIn emails saying "Your skills seem to match this job", you received them from your own employer. The article describes how this kind of internal "talent marketplace" could work. While this solution may work best for large companies, the point this article makes is applicable to any company with more than 50 employees: If your organization doesn't get serious about helping employees advance their careers inside the company, your best employees will be forced to look elsewhere. To learn more about what your organization can do to create more career advancement opportunities for employees, check out my article: Why Your People Strategy Should Focus on Employee Development. https://lnkd.in/gvykWnNw HBR Article: https://lnkd.in/gE7euuK7?

Many transitions + poor onboarding = big problems. Harvard Business Review Home Sign In Professional Networks How to Succeed Quickly in a New Role by Rob Cross, Greg Pryor, and David Sylvester From the Magazine (November–December 2021) Julie Anand & Damon Sauer Summary. A role transition, whether it’s a promotion, a move to a new organization, or a fresh challenge in an existing job, can be a huge boost to one’s career. But in today’s hyper-collaborative and dynamic workplaces, successful moves aren’t as easy as they once were, even for the most qualified, hardworking people. After analyzing employee relationships and communication patterns across more than 100 diverse companies, and interviewing 160 executives in 20 of them, the authors discovered an overlooked prerequisite for transition success: the effective use of internal networks. That involves five practices: surging rapidly into a broad network by asking a lot of questions and discovering boundary-spanning, innovative people across the organization; generating pull by understanding, energizing, and adjusting to new connections; identifying how to add value, where one falls short, and which people in the broad network can help fill any gaps; creating scale by using the network to engage other key opinion leaders, expand the scope and impact of one’s projects, and more efficiently deliver outsize results; and shaping the network for maximum thriving by making connections that enhance one’s workplace experience. https://lnkd.in/dR65URmG

Career Intelligence Conversations help managers equip their teams to adapt, ensuring individuals grow in ways that match both the company’s technology and the industry’s future. ✈️ Travel & Tourism The industry is evolving, and retaining top talent is key to delivering excellent experiences. Act on constructive feedback and show that their opinions matter in shaping the workplace. 💼 Resource Idea: Conduct “Stay” interviews focusing on these questions: 📌 Why did you choose to work for us? What keeps you here? 📌 Under what circumstances would you leave? 📌 What do you not have (resources, information) that is important to you? 📌 What are you looking for in your job that you don’t have in your current job?
