Have you ever been naked in front of your staff? No? I call singing the most naked form of expression other than being naked. Your voice is YOU. It's intrinsically the sound of you. The sound of your soul. And whilst you can learn to sing better, to a lot of extent the sound of your voice is the sound of your voice. In a group of people singing together, no one voice is more important than anyone else's. They are all an equal part of the collective of the overall sound. Every voice supports (and in turn is supported BY) the voice next to them. Every voice wants EXACTLY the same result. For the GROUP to perform well. Imagine how that can be mapped out onto your team. Imagine your entire team experiencing what it feels like to be COMPLETELY in tune (pun intended) with their colleagues, but also with their leaders. To all be striving for exactly the same results - for the success of the collective. Then imagine how much leadership you could show your team if you sang with them. Being brave to be vulnerable. To be naked. But with your clothes on. What could that do for your team spirit, for your human connection, and for your productivity? This picture was taken when I led the 300 singers of the Inspiration Choir in a performance with the Royal Northern Sinfonia. You might recognise the back of my head. But don’t spring it on them the week of the event or worse, the day of the performance. These requests should be well planned and made part of the initial appearance contract. 2. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 “𝗶𝗻-𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁” 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 – Many celebrity musical artists are pleased to be asked to perform at corporate events. The private aspect means no promotion to the public. However, within your organization a lot can be done to rally enthusiasm and grow attendance. Internal promotion can whip up enthusiasm and get prospects to attend your event over your competitors. 3. 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 – Comedians across the board enjoy riffing on a specific client industry or audience, but many also enjoy getting the CEO into their act.
