Common sound levels around us that you need to know- Sound is measured in decibels (dB), named after Alexander Graham Bell (inventor of the telephone). Whisper: 30 dB Normal conversation: 60 dB Busy traffic: 85 dB Music concerts: 100-120 dB Earbuds at high volume: up to 110 dB Government guidelines permit up to 85 dB for 8 hours per day; every 3 dB increase halves the safe exposure time.
