Forever curious - Find the best in every situation - Know your bias - Accountability before justification
Interesting insight from Paul G. on a live experiment with On Side and Intact and how that trend may play out. Scope and estimating management has become a point-of-concern, and ICC Insurance Claims Collaborative Inc and itel have become the trusted source for certainty for many of the harder to quantify areas of claims settlement. With respect to national adjuster licensing, we've seen this as a major pinch-point for many years. This and restoration contractor pre-planning for mobilization strategies and costs would greatly help expedite staffing shortages, foster true partnerships when they are needed most, and manage cost expectations. REINSURANCE COMMUNICATIONS REINSURANCE TREATIES: EXPLORING THE KEY ELEMENTS AND BENEFITS In nearly every insurance coverage, bad faith or defense counsel legal malpractice case the insurance company is asked to produce reinsurance information and communications related to the underlying claim. This information is requested for the possibility that the insurance company has revealed something to the reinsurers that might help the policyholder or other counterparty. Whether reinsurance information is ever really helpful is a discussion for another day but what we do see from the courts is a clear trend toward compelling discovery of reinsurance information. #reinsurance #communications #reinsurancetreaty

There has been an increase in litigation, hostility and media attention in fire safety related disputes. With parties to litigation, pursuing their respective claims and defending those brought against them with great vigour and great cost. Additionally, there has been an increase in the need for Expert Witness services. Despite having plenty of new regulatory hoops to jump through, some clients have introduced a Fire Scrutineer role which if competent professionals are appointed in the first place, should not be necessary. Now more than ever is the time to drive hard towards the highest professional and ethical standards and ensure both parties. Firm maturity and internal governance of project risk management, contractual review and quality assurance is more important than ever to protect all stakeholders and yet quality of cover in the PII market is not consistent across the board and a lack of appreciation of what some consultants are and are not covered for when signing. That's not in anyone's interest. Professional indemnity insurance is a critical factor for clients when choosing to work with professionals and goes hand in hand with service quality, technical quality, and quality assurance. BB7 has been working closely with Lockton the world's largest independent insurance brokerage for some time now as we continue the drive to raise standards. Lockton have embraced our challenges as their own and are working proactively with us to achieve long-term goals. Just the kind of long-term collaborative relationships we like. See post below.
We sat down with fire safety experts from BB7 to discuss the current state of fire safety in the UK, post-Grenfell challenges, and the future of professional indemnity insurance. Discover insights on: • The journey of BB7 • The evolving fire safety environment • Changes in risk management after Grenfell • Future legislation and industry needs • Importance of insurance coverage for fire safety David Isherwood from Lockton also shares valuable perspectives on the insurer landscape and risk management best practices.
