Obviously, #AI is a prominent topic at the celebration of IEEE RAS ICRA #ICRA40. In Gemeente Rotterdam the #robotic community engaged in deep, informed discussions on the practical capabilities and limitations of AI. But the biggest challenge in robotics lies not in AI itself, but in developing advanced hardware, particularly #actuators. Especially hands remain a significant challenge for robotics to replicate effectively. In this video, Randall van Poelvoorde discusses these themes with Professor Stefano Stramigioli, chairman of ICRA 40.

Without the right tools, you risk spending excessive time and resources. Enter Simulations: A Game-Changer in Robotics Development As someone with a strong ROS background, I've always relied on Gazebo for simulations. But I've recently explored Isaac Sim, and it has been a game-changer! This summer, I dedicated myself to mastering Isaac Sim from the ground up, and I'm truly impressed by its capabilities. Here are some simulations I tired with Isaac Sim: 1. Building a simple 2-wheel differential drive robot from scratch. 2. Adding a Differential Drive Controller to JetBot. 3. Integrating Isaac Sim with Isaac ROS Nvblox. Isaac Sim vs. Gazebo: My Take Isaac Sim won’t replace Gazebo—each has its unique strengths. For anyone beginning their journey in robotics, especially with ROS 2, Gazebo is a fantastic starting point. Once you're ready to take it to the next level, you can import your robot's URDF into Isaac Sim, add a ROS 2 bridge, and harness the power of the Omnigraph API to integrate your controller and ROS 2 essentials. #Robotics #Simulation #IsaacSim #ROS2 #Gazebo #TechInnovation #AI #Nvidia
