It was a great meeting with FANUC Europe at our headquarters in Linz, Austria. Wu Yunfeng, Claude Seiler, Thomas Eder and Gerhard Edinger took the chance to look behind the scenes of FerRobotics, the market leader for Active Compliant Technology end-effectors. Ronald Naderer, (CEO and Founder FerRobotics) and Andreas Simmer (Key Account FerRobotics Europe) showed them around. The FANUC delegation got a convincing insight into why customers benefit when their robots are equipped with FerRobotics end-effectors. Both, system integrators and production managers take advantage from easy installation and roll-out, less programming, unmatched speed and constant contact force (real force control) for surface finishing tasks. After a couple weeks of early morning, late night, and a VERY understanding wife we have the first robot successfully picking parts with the vision guidance. Each robot has 5 separate pneumatic slides with vacuums attached. This helps us cut cycle time by just relying on the robot to do the X/Y/U movement while the Z is controlled by the slides. With just this initial program in there and no time spent optimizing the code, we are sitting at 3.107 seconds for 5 picks and a place cycle. Ultimately we are looking to be sub 3 seconds per cycle. The conveyor you see is a custom Robotunits Inc. conveyor with EFFILUX LED panel lights embedded inside of it. It works great for backlighting the parts and is SUPER bright. #robotics #automation #visionguidance #LETSGO!
We may have been silent for a few weeks but it has paid off. Today the team was able to get the first of 3 Epson Robots GX-8 robots picking parts using vision guidance. The cycle time is 3.107 seconds for 5 picks and 1 place. This is all just initial programming so with some optimization we are looking at a sub 3 second cycle time. We are certainly going to enjoy this weekend seeing the hard work pay off on the way out the door. #epson #visionguided #automation #SUPERfast
