Russia ready to help African countries affected by mpox The Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing has prepared proposals on providing scientific and technical assistance as well as aid in training specialists MOSCOW, August 15/ The Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing has prepared proposals on providing aid and training specialists for African countries affected by mpox, previously known as monkeypox, the agency’s press service told journalists. "The Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing has prepared proposals on providing scientific and technical assistance as well as aid in training specialists for African countries affected by the epidemic and for the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention," the agency said in a statement. Earlier, World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus declared mpox a public health emergency of international concern. Mpox is a rare viral disease which is endemic to remote regions near tropical forests of Central and Western Africa. The first case of the animal-to-human transmission of this disease was recorded in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1970. According to the WHO, this virus is usually transmitted to humans by wild animals, such as rodents and primates, while its secondary spread among humans is limited. Usually the lethality coefficient during mpox outbreaks ranges from 1% to 10% with the majority of fatalities in the younger age groups. #business #finance #financialservices

Social Psychology l Identity and Entity l Religious Study l Islamophobia l UCLouvain Belgium l State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta
We have been introduced to the term "religion extremism" since the 9/11 attacks. The target of the narrative is Islam. However, even though we witnessed so many casualties, we never heard the term "state extremism". Why? Because the target of the narrative is "these states", which has targeted religion for its own ends for so long. Let's wait and see if there will be scientific research from extremism researchers on "state extremism". The fact is that there are many, even witnessed by all humans in the world. It takes many forms, from boycotting a country's sovereignty (such as the election case in Venezuela to the commemoration of the Hiroshima bombing in Japan) to genocide in Palestine. Talking about humanity...? However, are all of us who witness it still considered human...? ...this is the end of humanity
The blind inexcusable US support for the mass slaughter that is extreme genocide in Gaza is now beyond the unacceptable and incomprehensible! Their criminal complicity in the racist supremacist Apartheid entity`s death and destruction aiming at further ethnic cleansing is untenable even for the world`s only super power aided and abetted with the ignoring of the carnage by the pro-Israel international corporate media and the BBC! They will inevitably be held accountable together with the true "human animals"! They don`t seem to understand that in the Court of Public Opinion they have already been tried and found GUILTY! https://lnkd.in/g3XuY7FA

Anisha Moosaأنيشا موسى🇿🇦🇵🇸 from South Africa asks the tough questions of the 1) International Criminal Court and 2) Davos elitists below. My follow-on two-part Christmas wish/New Year’s resolutions are: 1) Davos (World Economic Forum) dissolve itself as distracting to pressing multi-global challenges. 2) A John Marshall(s) of the International Criminal Court will finally emerge from that bastion of cowardice, forming a cornerstone of not world government, an outdated extrapolation of the [nuclear] war-based nation-state system but synergy of purpose among eight billion individual human talents, accelerating outward in combined spirit across the universe. We will get both done by June 2024. SEE ALSO John Marshall (1755-1835) for good and evil, Wikipedia. https://lnkd.in/dQUqTDJS

International Criminal Court before Dec 2023 comes to an end, show the globe you stand for something good! United Nations World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus António Guterres telling the world what we already know about starvation, no access to water, medical treatment, safe places that are unsafe etc doesn't end a genocide. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus Mr Tedro, during Covid you had every president, celebrity hosting you, now none? At DAVOS, you were the legend for vaccines, but now Sudan, Congo, Gaza probably facing the WHO classified most dangerous Black Swan event, where are all these Humanitarian ambassadors?

Following the UN General Assembly High-level Meeting on the fight against tuberculosis in September 2023, UN Member States adopted a Political Declaration, which outlines targets and commitments for fast-tracking progress towards TB elimination by 2027. In light of the Political Declaration adopted by UN Member States, strengthening intersectoral cooperation and accountability is essential to achieving global goals and commitments. Civil society organizations and TB-affected communities play a crucial role in catalyzing these processes at the country level and actively participating in them. To ensure that your participation is meaningful and active, take the first step by reading the text of the UN HLM Political Declaration on TB 2023 – the cornerstone of international strategy for TB control over the next 5 years! The document is available in 7 languages, including English and Russian. "The shift in transmission dynamics and the prevalence in at-risk groups is reminiscent of the historical emergence of the HIV AIDS epidemic that was originally postulated to have transferred over from monkeys to humans..." The authors make a very important parallel to HIV. Although a vaccine, https://lnkd.in/eGtg7QDv, exists for mpox, it is inaccessible to these populations and not included in the strategies here. For how long shall we talk about global health strategies without equity.
“…..the possibility of cross-border transmission (of mpox), initially in Uganda given the porosity of borders, remains high because of informal workers around mines and increased mass movement arising from insecurity. In 2022 alone, over 60 000 refugees crossed into Uganda from DR Congo and this mass movement continues.”

#YearInReview: In a significant milestone, Guinea Bissau became the first African Union Member State to establish an Integrated End Malaria and NTD Council to boost domestic resource mobilisation for both diseases. To address the current funding shortfall for #malaria control and elimination and chronic underfunding of #NTD programs, we must urgently rally communities, political leaders, and private businesses to back innovative funding initiatives to #endmalaria and #BeatNTDs.
