🕰️ It’s #throwbackthursday 🕰️ ...and this time we retrace the 📜 story of glass fiber wall covering. It was 1931 when the first “spun glass wall covering” was produced in our factory of that time, the “Thüringische Glaswollindustrie” (Thuringian Glass Wool Industry) in Steinach. For the first time, a textile woven from glass yarn was successfully bonded in such a way that it was perfect for use as a wall covering. This development marked the successful beginning of what is known today as glass fiber or glass fabric wall covering. That same year, the current name “Vitrulan” was also registered as a trademark. It is based on the Latin terms “vitrum” meaning “glass” and “lana”, which means “wool”. Read how Vitrulan progressed in the years that followed at: https://lnkd.in/eBXTdpmE #Vitrulan #VitrulanGroup #history #backthen #glassfiber

When it comes to ensuring that gemstones stay securely in place, there’s more to the process than meets the eye. Here are 3 critical factors: 1️⃣ Tailored Glue Formulas: Different gemstones require different glue formulas. Understanding the unique properties of each stone allows us to create the perfect bond. 2️⃣ Full Glue Coverage: It sounds simple, but achieving a base fully coated with glue is a real challenge. The precision needed ensures that each stone is not only secure but also perfectly positioned. 3️⃣ Collaboration with Experts: We partner with universities and laboratories to continuously study and improve our glue formulas. This collaboration keeps us at the forefront of innovation in stone setting. At Nendine, we’re committed to excellence in every detail, ensuring that our jewelry is not only beautiful but also durable. 💎 #JewelryDesign #StoneSetting #Gemstones #Innovation #JewelryCraftsmanship #JewelryManufacturing

Designing with lab-grown diamonds unlocks opportunities rarely attainable with mined stones. One major advantage is accessibility; for instance, assembling a parcel of 50-100 carat baguette-cut diamonds might take years with mined options, but lab-grown alternatives can meet this need within weeks. This rapid availability accelerates design timelines, allowing for greater experimentation and creativity. While mined diamonds hold the allure of natural rarity, lab-grown diamonds foster innovation. Continuous advancements in R&D open up a range of shapes, sizes, and combinations, empowering designers to craft intricate, customized pieces. This flexibility encourages bold, forward-thinking designs that go beyond the constraints of mined stones. At Star Blue Jewels, we embrace lab-grown diamonds to drive our craft forward, merging innovation with artistry. By focusing on wholesale, we offer retailers the chance to elevate their collections with designs tailored for the modern consumer—this commitment to meeting retailers' demands is what makes us a B2B brand. Melange yarn is a type of yarn created by blending fibers of different colors or by dyeing fibers before they’re spun into yarn. This produces a distinctive, multi-toned look with a subtle mix of shades in the final fabric. Melange yarn can be made from natural fibers like cotton, wool, and linen, or from synthetic fibers like polyester or acrylic. It's popular for its aesthetic appeal, as the blending gives a heathered or speckled appearance that can range from very subtle to more prominent, depending on the proportions and colors of the fibers mixed. Usage of Melange Yarn Melange yarn is widely used across various textile applications due to its unique visual and functional qualities: 1. Apparel: Melange yarn is commonly used in creating T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, and casual wear. The subtle variations in color add visual interest without the need for prints or patterns, making it popular in fashion for items that aim for a natural, rustic, or vintage look. 2. Sportswear: Because of its soft feel and color variation, melange yarn is often used in activewear like leggings, joggers, and athletic shirts. It provides a distinctive look while maintaining comfort and flexibility, which are key in sportswear. 3. Home Textiles: This yarn is also used for making home textiles like bedding, blankets, and upholstery fabrics. The multi-toned effect adds warmth and texture, making it popular in creating cozy, inviting spaces. 4. Knitwear: Melange yarn works particularly well in knitted fabrics, enhancing the depth and dimension of the knit patterns. Sweaters, scarves, and hats made from melange yarns are especially popular for their softness and subtle color patterns. 5. Industrial Uses: In some cases, melange yarn can be used in industrial textiles where aesthetic appeal, combined with durability, is desired. For example, upholstery for car interiors or high-end furniture might use melange yarn fabrics to add a sophisticated look. Melange yarn provides designers and manufacturers with a flexible material to create visually appealing and high-quality products that require less post-weaving dyeing, saving on production costs and reducing environmental impact.
