Executive Career Consultant | Coach | Job Search Accelerator | Headhunter | Fashion, Luxury, Lifestyle + Creative Industry Expert
It's important to keep informed about the industry and luckily we have our pick of experts here on LinkedIn. A few weeks ago I enjoyed Helen Brocklebank's takeaways from the F.T. Business of Luxury Summit. Susanna Nicoletti always has a thought-provoking angle, Mathew Dixon, Harveen Gill, appear on my feed with news and updates. Over the weekend The Business of Fashion shared Imran Amed letter "The Fashion System is Creaking. Will it Collapse?" It's an interesting perspective so long as you can keep it at arm's distance! This type of conversation can be difficult to digest if your job doesn't feel secure or you're between roles. How can you use this information to craft a POV and inform your next steps? When I wrote 'Is YOUR Midlife Fashion Career Collapsing? I didn't take a business angle (plenty of experts for that). Instead, I suggested a reframe of how you can adapt and evolve with the changes. Just had a great interview experience. The interviewer asked me one of the best questions I've heard - “Here is a list of four brands (they were their competitors) tell me their equivalent fashion brand and why." I found this question so fun to answer. It allowed me to showcase my understanding and beliefs about brand and marketing. Which is a great way to get to know a potential marketer. You need to know how we think about, evaluate and interpret marketing. Chef’s kiss of a question. 👌🏻 What would be the fashion equivalent of the brand you currently work for? 👙🧣👗🧤 #InterviewExperience #Branding #Marketing

Business Coach | Helping you to grow your business to next level | Transformation & Operations Expert | Management Consultant
Never judge someone by their looks. Looks don't matter when your skills speak. No one will hire you if you don't have the skills that are required for the job. On the other hand, if you have the required skills that are required in the job role, 99% chances are that you'll be hired for that role without caring about your looks and fashion sense. It's very simple. Never judge someone by their looks without knowing anything about that person. Maybe that person is smarter and more intelligent than you. The lesson is don't judge people to fast by their looks or anything else. Be respectful until you know them properly. Video credit - Moumi_x #CorporateCulture #success #growth #Corporatejob

Personal Branding Strategist, Speaker & Founder at Klowt - The Personal Branding Agency 🚀 @ameliasordell on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok
I was running my own fashion brand at 21 years old, and in the first year, I had everything: - The customers. - The press. - The brand. - The success. ASOS was in talks with us to stock our clothes. I thought I had it sussed. I did not. In year two, I lost everything. - My business. - My home. - My car. - My relationship. Everything I had was ripped out from under my feet. I had to re-enter the workforce with a failed business and not much else on my resume and had to work my way from the bottom up - after being a Managing Director for 3 years. A humbling experience. But that failure is what allowed me to work for someone else for 10 years. That failure allowed me to make more mistakes and learn from them - on someone else's dime. That failure gave me the time, the skills and the confidence to launch my next venture, Klowt. That failure is why Klowt now succeeds. You, like I did, see failure as the opposite of success, it’s not. It’s part of it. Because there is no such thing as win or lose – there is only win or learn. Agree? 💜 P.S - Image from being interviewed at Fashion Week in my brand 🥹 _____________________________ If you enjoyed this, share the post with your network and follow me Amelia Sordell 🔥 for daily content about building your brand.
