I tuned in, picked up key insights they shared, and referenced those in my opening message. The result? A response that opened the door to ongoing conversations. ✒ Craft Relevant Messaging (Focus on Their Needs, Not Just Your Services) Every email and message should be polished, professional, and directly relevant to the prospect’s needs. Personalization here isn’t just about adding their name; it’s about connecting the dots to their unique business pain points. Example: In my last role, my team studied the behavior and news of senior decision-makers in pharma firms. Without a steady flow of potential deals to work, it becomes extremely difficult to consistently hit revenue targets. Developing skills and processes for both filling the funnel and properly qualifying those leads is essential. Prospecting needs to be an ongoing discipline, not something just done when the pipeline runs dry. Setting aside dedicated prospecting time each day for activities like cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn connections, and networking is a must. Treat it like a scheduled appointment that can't be missed. The more at-bats you can take, the more chances you create to start new sales conversations. However, simply generating a high volume of leads isn't enough - you also need strategies for rigorous qualification. Taking the time upfront to truly understand the prospect's business, needs, priorities and potential barriers to purchase allows you to filter out poor fits.
