Here's Day 15 of 'Unlocking Writing Wisdom Series' The Art of Content Promotion 📢 We often think of crafting effective social media strategies to promote our content. However, there's another way to look at it. In the essay "The Secret To Writing High-Performing Content," Nicolas Cole emphasizes a strategic approach to online writing: playing the numbers game. He advocates for a cycle of creation and evaluation, where writers produce multiple pieces, analyze their performance, and double down on the most successful ones. Cole introduces the concept of the "101 Structure," citing it as an example of a winning formula. (Read: https://lnkd.in/gFMjM3un) He encourages writers to dissect their breakout hits to understand why they resonated and then replicate that success with variations on the theme. By continually exploiting what works, writers can increase their chances of success and improve their overall performance in the digital realm. Cole underscores the importance of recognizing winning content and capitalizing on it to enhance one's online presence. ___________________________ 🔥 Subscribe to Marina Emailer for free to get more such curated tips and tricks! https://buff.ly/3vvaRur✨ #Writing #Digital #MarinaEmailer #newsletter #journalism #media #internet

In 2002 I launched "I Love To Write Day" as a grassroots campaign to have people of all ages spend time writing every November 15th. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of ILTWD, I published the "I Love To Write Day Creative Writing Journal." If you're looking for inspiration to write, this journal is packed with writing tips and challenges to get your creative juices flowing. 87 creative experts from all around the globe, including writers, authors, musicians, artists, photographers, actors, directors and even a few pirates (including the guy from “Talk Like A Pirate Day”) have contributed some tips on how to be creative, or shared their own creative journey. It also includes 30 creative challenges that one reviewer said “is like waving a red flag in front of a bull!” The creative challenges are fun and give you the opportunity to “think outside of the box” to use your imagination like never before. Another reviewer called it a “fidget spinner for the creative mind that will inspire you to move from dreaming to doing…more than once!” Will Hahn, Fantasy Author, Teacher and Audiobook Narrator, had this to say about the book: "Riddle's manual is relentlessly encouraging, accessible to school-aged readers but appealing to adults as well, just the thing for anyone who has the writing bug (or wonders if they could). "If you thought you might like to write someday, this journal provides so many ideas you're bound to develop your skills, the interest in and most importantly the habit of writing. Homeschoolers and their parents would find this resource invaluable (teachers, you don't have to be a published author to be able to encourage good writing habits, especially to help students start the idea-fountain going). "Have it nearby for down-time use. Read it straight or jump around. Take advantage of the many exercises to keep your writing muscles fit for the job (whether or not you think writing is a job, or just plain fun)." Mark your calendar and plan to celebrate I Love To Write Day on November 15th. "When people become stronger writers, they become better communicators...and everyone wins!" #ilovetowriteday

President at Lucinda Literary LLC, Author of Get Signed: Find an Agent, Land a Book Deal, and Become a Published Author (Just Released!)
Question: How much thought and effort should authors put into promoting themselves, from querying through publication? What if they just want to write? There are very successful authors who, last I checked, could burrow themselves away in the cabin retreat or the proverbial ivory tower and focus only on the internal act of writing. Last I checked, those authors include Barbara Kingsolver, Donna Tartt, and Elizabeth Strout, some of my favorites. However, they established themselves long before public promotion, like social media, vs. media promotion, was required to introduce oneself to a wide audience of possible readers. Maybe the first thing to understand is that the act of writing is not the act of publishing. When you write, you connect with yourself. When you publish, you connect with others. Promotion is a secondary, if not full-time job, and needs to be from the start, ideally, for nonfiction writers in particular, long before you’re approaching agents. Here’s the encouraging news. If you love to write, you can repurpose that content—for your blog, newsletter, social media feed, etc—effectively doing both the writing work and the promoting work at once. If you see it in that new light, perhaps you’ll feel more inspired to do it. #amwriting #marketing #writingtips #writingcommunity #authorssupportingauthors #publishing

Newspaper articles like these have been published all across the United States since I launched I Love To Write Day in 2002. ILTWD is a grassroots campaign to have people of all ages spend time writing every Nov. 15th. Author Amy Bartlett, who wrote the best-selling book, "Be Still America, I Am God," after the 9-11 attacks, is supporting I Love To Write Day. "I Love To Write Day is a great reminder of the gift often taken for granted. The written word, from the influence of a history book, to the power of a love letter, is a treasure. On I Love To Write Day may we cherish it as individuals and as a community," she said. Jane McFann, a high school English teacher at Glasgow H.S. in Delaware, and an author of 15 books, is supporting I Love To Write Day. "Writing is wonderful, because it is a great skill to take into any career, and it has a way of clarifying one's thoughts. It is amazing how one skill can touch as many aspects of a person's life," she said. I Love To Write Day will be here before you know it. Please help spread the word! You can support ILTWD by purchasing a copy of the "I Love To Write Day Creative Writing Journal" on Amazon. If you're looking for inspiration to write, this journal is packed with writing tips and challenges to get your creative juices flowing. 87 creative experts from all around the globe, including writers, authors, musicians, artists, photographers, actors, directors and even a few pirates (including the guy from “Talk Like A Pirate Day”) have contributed some tips on how to be creative, or shared their own creative journey.
