Accrington Stanley Community Trust was originally established under the banner of Football in the Community in 2007, with the aim to bring the professional club and their community closer together. The Trust has expanded at a phenomenal rate, and it reached out to our Wish List scheme, in need of some comfortable furniture. “We can’t thank The Senator Group enough for the kind support it has shown to our charity in donating furniture for our community centre. As a large employer in the area, it’s great to see it support local charities through this scheme. Charity budgets are often tight, so to be able to receive top quality furniture is a blessing. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Senator for many years to come.’’ Martin Fearon, CEO, Accrington Stanley Community Trust.

If you're a small charity, it'd be brilliant if you could spare a few minutes of your precious time to complete this survey on what the future of infrastructure support for small charities should look like ⬇ It's your chance to explain what topics/themes are most important for your org, how your needs have changed over time, and how support should be structured and costed. This will not only help to shape the future of small charity infrastructure support, it'll also help the sector to build a stronger case for support for why this is needed. This is vital, because, at present, infrastructure support is hugely underfunded. Here's the survey link: https://lnkd.in/e6Uz5QEe

OVER $50 MILLION DOLLARS DISTRIBUTED TO CHARITIES! Ohio Lawyers Give Back was conceived and created by Patrick J. Perotti, Senior Partner of Dworken & Bernstein Co., L.P.A. in 2003 to facilitate the distribution of leftover class action funds to impactful nonprofits and charities that serve the community. Over the last two decades, OLGB has distributed more than $50 million to community organizations. In class action lawsuits, if there is to be a payment of damages to class members, a fund is created. After class members’ claims are paid, there is often an amount remaining (that is unclaimed). These funds can be distributed to a charitable organization through a process called Cy Pres. OLGB promotes distributing the leftover funds to charitable programs that benefit the class members in the community where they live. We are proud to have been able to distribute leftover funds and support over 300 non-profits and charities predominately in NE Ohio and as well as throughout the state…. serving Ohio and the people these organizations serve. If you volunteer at, serve on a board or know of a worthwhile charity, please go to https://lnkd.in/ebdejf2j and click on “suggest a charity”.

For many busy charitable organisations the main focuses will involve actively working in pursuance of its objects and purposes and fundraising. The commercial value and importance of an organisation’s intellectual property (IP) can therefore be overlooked. John Tunnard delves into the types of IP and initial steps to be considered to make sure charities are protecting and getting the most out of its IP. https://lnkd.in/eS_wS_MG #IntellectualProperty #Charities #Gifting #Wills #EstatePlanning
