Happy holidays, filmmakers and storytellers! 🎄🎥 As we wrap up another year of creating remarkable stories, I can't help but reflect on the wild ride it's been. From AI revolutionizing our workflows to landing interviews with legends like Ronaldinho, we've pushed boundaries and grown in ways we never imagined. But here's the thing... The real magic isn't in the tech or the big names. It's in the moments of connection. The stories that touch hearts. The experiences we craft that linger long after the credits roll. So as you're gathered with loved ones this season, remember: You're not just a filmmaker. You're a creator of memories, a weaver of emotions, a storyteller who can change the world one frame at a time. And that's something truly worth celebrating. 🥂 As we look to the new year, I challenge you: How will you push your storytelling to new heights? What remarkable experiences will you create? How will you use your craft to make a difference? The world is waiting for your stories. Wishing you all a holiday season filled with inspiration, creativity, and of course, unforgettable stories. Now go hug your loved ones and recharge those creative batteries. We've got work to do. 🔥

I was left a bit shocked last week. 🤯 I've been involved in multiple meetings and chats with other creatives which has been MEGA ⚡ But... I've learned that many of my peers (who are incredibly talented and produce great work FYI) are working for FREE. I totally understand building a brand and building a name but as someone in my industry of videography and photography I cannot believe that people are giving it away... And on the flipside people are not offering to pay what these professionals are worth! 😳 I find it WILD! During my time in "businessland" (what a great theme park name), I have developed a selection of services and I charge for the value I produce in helping people showcase their culture, people, mission etc. It's just so sad to see other people who are clearly worth the value they provide, not getting what they deserve... And not asking for it. Maybe I am delulu??? ... But freebie work is just not even a consideration for me anymore. Now don't get me wrong, I DO choose to participate in giveback projects that I deem to have a strategic benefit to me and my business. But when it comes to the bread and butter... I need to get paid. My cat has got to eat (he gets pretty hangry) 😻 I think we need to champion ourselves, champion our industries and give good value for great work. So my takeaway... 🔥 Know your worth 🔥 Charge for the value you provide 🔥 Protect our industries If you work in my industry and are struggling to explain the value you provide, DM me and I'll give you some free time to figure it out with you. #videoindustry #creativeindustry #suppportingothers

Treat your clients like they're at Disney 💡. What does that mean? It means making yourself known for an exemplary level of customer service - one that's far above and beyond your competitors. It means staying 'on the ⚽' by anticipating the issues that your clients might face working with you, and being able to provide real-time, workable solutions. It means making them feel like they've gotten something special just from working with you (spoiler alert - they already have). Not everyone loves Disney, and not everyone can afford it. The same may be true of your business. Frankly, it doesn't really matter. Why? Because the people who do love you and the work that you do will move mountains to get to you. They know how you make them feel, and they're grateful for it. Even better - they'll tell everyone they know how amazing you are. Walt Disney was a great storyteller first and foremost, and he knew how to tell stories that made you sit up and take notice. Take a cue from Uncle Walt. Let's start telling your stories in a way that makes people sit up, and take notice. #storytelling #storyteller #disney #disneyland #waltdisney #loyalty #branding #contentwriting #contentwriter #storiesmatter

A picture paints a thousand words, but often, there is more of a story to be told. This is one of my favourite photos of our "Gauntlet" delivery team. What you see: - The final briefing before the activity goes live. - A great photo taken by two of the best videographers/photographers who habitually capture people in their best light. (Melody Clark/Justin Clark) - Focussed attention and respect for the person speaking (David Neal). - A guest facilitator from the participant organisation brought into the delivery team. (David Levitt - MAHRI). Ask him if he felt included, supported and part of the group. - A team ready to work. What you don't see: - Ruthless commitment to team and individual personal and professional development. - Countless days and months of planning and continuous improvement. - Protection of each other's reputations (often by having difficult conversations) - Telling each other what we need, not what we want to hear. - Provide staunch support to the day, team, and participants. - Covering each other's backs and stepping in to cover the gaps (thanks, Evan Parker, for stepping in). - Genuine care and empathy. - Hannah Woods, working in the shadows to keep it moving forward. - Wit and humour, even in the most chaotic times. - Late nights and early mornings (often days at a time) to prepare for the experience. - People who don't care who gets the credit as long as the team succeeds. - A team that knows when to laugh and play and when to work. - Debbie Bennett, hiding behind a pole because she hates photos. The stories and activity behind photos are often as, if not more, interesting than the photos themselves. #leadership #personaldevelopment #team

In a world where attention spans are shorter than ever, the art of storytelling remains a powerful tool that transcends boundaries. A captivating story can move audiences, spark conversations, and inspire action. But what elements make a story truly resonate? 📚 Here are some insights from industry experts: Audiences crave real stories that reflect genuine experiences. One of the things that's so great about the kind of law I practice is working so closely with truly talented and creative people. The work, the process, the creation - my left side brain can only barely comprehend it all. Christine, congratulations on the wrap of Visionary and your work with Kraft Heinz, can't wait to see what you come up with next! #creators #creatives #director #law #entertainmentlaw
CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: This week, we're excited to feature our talented client Christine Santora. Christine has been working in the advertising world since 2005, and in the past few years, she's started directing short films & branded content. Recently, she released a brand campaign for Heinz – a playful documentary series featuring their tomato-obsessed employees. Bebry Law represented Christine in connection with her second short film, Visionary – a dark comedy about how far will a director and an actor go for their art. As a Group Creative director for Wieden + Kennedy, she oversees work with a variety of well-known brands, and her work has been featured in seven Super Bowls and recognized by the Emmys, Cannes Lions, One Show, D&AD, AICP, Clios, and TED, spanning categories from experiential to design to film. In 2014, she was even named one of the 36 most creative women in advertising by Business Insider! Click through to her portfolio site below to see her work in action. Exploring the realm of storytelling in cinema often leads to the concept of cultural displacement. This method highlights how stories can shift in meaning across different cultures, creating a rich tapestry of perspectives. Its strengths lie in fostering cross-cultural understanding and sparking dialogue among diverse audiences. 🌍✨ However, one must navigate the risk of misinterpretation and the potential dilution of original narratives. On the other hand, rooted local storytelling emphasizes the authenticity of cultural experiences. It embraces the beauty of specific traditions, allowing for deeper emotional connections with audiences within a particular region. Yet, it may risk alienating broader audiences who might not resonate with very localized narratives. A blended approach marries the best of both worlds. By intertwining global insights with local narratives, filmmakers can create stories that resonate universally while honoring cultural specificity. To balance this, consider incorporating elements of local flavor that are relatable beyond geographical borders. Engage with community members during the story development phase, ensuring their voices are woven into the fabric of your film for a richer, more vibrant result. Let's uplift our cinematic landscape together! 🎥❤️ #FilmCommunity #CulturalExchange #Storytelling #FilmProduction #CinematicArt
