When you give us a call, you’ll most likely be speaking with Carl. We’ve asked him to share a bit about himself so next time you ring, you can have a good chat! 🚜What is your role? Plant Hire Co-ordinator, My role is quite diverse. I run everything from the booking and hiring of our plant and machinery to handling of account customers. This generally involves: - taking plant hire bookings - coordinating with the workshop which plant is required - taking payment and managing customer accounts - coordinating our logistics effectively - managing the company diary - arranging supplier payment and so on. 🚜What do you like doing outside of work? Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my family (Carl’s just had a baby so he’s also enjoying a few sleepless nights), frequent holidays and the odd outing 😄 🚜How long have you worked at Boss? 4 years maybe 5 I’ve lost track! 🚜What if the favourite thing about the job? The team banter 🤣 #bossplanthire #meettheteam #kentconstruction #construction #p

🤔🏠 Why should you hire a professional mover? Moving can be highly stressful both emotionally and physically. That's why it's important to consider hiring a professional mover to handle the heavy-lifting and fragile items with utmost care. By choosing a specialized mover, you can feel confident knowing that your move is in safe and experienced hands. 📦💪 Hiring a professional mover can involve partial or full home packing, loading, transporting, storing, unloading, and even assistance with unpacking. This leaves you and your family free to focus on other important aspects of your move, whilst being assured that your precious possessions are secure. Just as you would call a plumber or electrician, opting for a moving specialist can make a significant difference on your move day. 🚚🔐 #RuffandReady #movers #moving #movingcompany #relocation #movingday #packers #packing #professionalmovers #movingservices #movingtips #localmovers #bestmovers #movingout #moversandpackers #move #home #transport #movingandstorage #localmoving #transportation #relocating #southcarolinamovers #relocationspecialist #commercialmoving #crosscountrymoving #residentialmoving

Educator developing people’s fire safety understanding. What I offer is the same training, done better.
When I was on site, my job as Site Logistics Manager was looked upon by some as a role that was given to someone who didn't really have any skills, and managed the unskilled workers on site. Nothing could be further from the truth. I managed a team that largely consisted of Safety Critical Workers. Most of my team, except my Labourers worked with or around plant, cranes, goods vehicles, or on the highway. Some of the tasks we did carried the biggest risk. One of those tasks was Mobile Crane Lifts. These lifting operations were planned in conjunction with our contractor months in advance. I walked the area with the contractors Appointed Person, we worked together to ensure he had the information he needed, we listed what they needed from me and the site, etc. When we had everything we needed, including the Lift Plan and Lift Schedule (information on what we're lifting), Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Traffic Management Plan, etc. I kept reviewing it all so I knew the plan like the back of my hand. The day of the lift starts with a Team Briefing - everyone involved in the lift. It's important everyone knows what they're doing or people can die - it really is that simple! The plan included closing the pavement for a short time while the pieces were lifted from the trailer bed because of the short distance from the unloading point to the site perimeter, and the footpath. This required permission from local council at the planning stage - hence why we needed the plan done months in advance. We had been granted a two day closure of the footpath. Lifting prefabricated concrete panels, and staircases takes time. It meant a lot of trucks, which were held at a holding area half a mile down the road because we couldn't - and I wouldn't allow trucks to just park up on the road and create a further hazard for roadusers and pedestrians. Some people criticised me for having such a "large" lifting team - 2x SATM's, 1x Gateman, 4x PVM's (2 on site, 2 at the holding area), 1x Crane Operaor, 2x Slinger Signallers, 1x Crane Supervisor, and me (overall control of all of the operations). Most of the criticisms were around my use of a seperate Lift Supervisor and Slingers. The reason I did this was because I believed, and still do, that one person shouldn't do two roles. A seperate Lift Supervisor means the Slingers just have to worry about slinging and signalling, the Lift Supervisor can watch over their safety, an experienced Lift Supervisor can notice small or subtle things that can evolve. The size of my exclusion zone was another. My exclusion zone was slew radius plus 2 metres, just to be sure, and some people didn't like that. A few days later my injury from my slip from my previous project flared up and I had to give up work because of the pain and the muscle spasms. I wanted to see it out, but I just couldn't. That's when my body started failing me.
