Someone recently asked me… why have you been at Aero for 14 years? What keeps you there? I didn’t even have to hesitate. My answer is simple. It’s because of the values of my company. My team. My leaders. My customers. My passion. Retail isn’t always easy. There are always changes to adapt to. Tough conversations to be had. Heavy workload ect. But you know what? At the end of the day, I feel valued. I feel appreciated. I feel apart of something pretty dang special! As I look back through my years at Aero one thing remains the same. Teamwork, integrity, respect, compassion, accountability, and inclusivity. These values represent my company. These are the values that I live day in and day out. These values are my true passion. Here are some pictures from throughout the years of my incredible teams. From movie premieres to work meetings. From haunted houses to having holiday parties. These pictures are my reminder to love what you do. To appreciate the little things. To build teams who respect each other. Teams who show compassion and who include everyone for who they are. Teams who show up everyday ready to work hard, demonstrate integrity and who are ready to be held accountable. I promise you that if you hold true to these values you will lead your team to success. It's 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 & we would like to introduce you to Anthony (Tony) Cannon from our Maintenance/Metal Fabrication department! 𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 Anthony: When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending my free time fishing and having fun with my family. I have two kids, a son, and a daughter, and we're always together. We're also big fans of watching rally car and monster truck races. 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦? 𝘼𝙉𝙎𝙒𝙀𝙍: Preventative Maintenance Manager/Head of Fab Shop/Equipment Manager 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦? 𝘼𝙉𝙎𝙒𝙀𝙍: My favorite part about working at Alliance is that you’re not a number here, and I know you hear everyone say that, but it's true. The owners/leadership create relationships with all the employees, and they genuinely care. I talk sports with Coley and they're always asking about our well-being. They also understand family comes first, and if I were to have something come up, they'd let me go handle it. 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘙𝘝? 𝘼𝙉𝙎𝙒𝙀𝙍: Something I think everyone should know about the production side is there are a lot of smart and veteran line workers/plant managers. Overall we have a lot of experience that some places don’t have. It's what makes us really good at what we do! 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘴 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘥? 𝘼𝙉𝙎𝙒𝙀𝙍: At past places I've worked, we would simply clock in and clock out and we were seen as a number, they didn't even call us by our names. Whereas here, we can talk to people from the top to the bottom and they know our names. Everyone from the janitor to the CEO gets treated the same, and you can't find that in many other places. "Embrace the suck!" I miss flying! Almost 3 decades ago I served as a Flight Engineer on CH-47D Helicopters. We used to say that it "beat the air into submission". Today, I can still pick out their unique "chopping" sound as they fly over. I miss flying, but I don't miss all the junk we had to deal with. I don't miss not knowing what was going on. I don't miss sitting in the hangar for 24-48 hrs with no idea why. I don't miss 5:00AM PT in tiny gray shorts! But I miss flying, I really, really do! I miss flying NOE I miss calling a load I miss flying at with NVG I miss the smell of hydraulic fluid I miss the rush of air created by those blades What's the point? There will be good and bad, where ever you work It has been 27 years since I was discharged I still remember the good...and the bad And, to some degree, I am what I am today because of it. So, if you are dealing with any junk at work - I am sorry, I understand. Hopefully, it won't last. Hopefully, it will make you stronger. In the end, I don't know that I want to "embrace the suck" like I was told. I"d rather embrace the good. However, after all these years I know that the "suck" was part of it. --------- I'm Dr. Steven. I work with leaders and organizations to increase organizational efficiency. P.S. - What do you miss?
