And we’re officially on the final countdown to the thenetworkone’s Indie Summit 2024 next week. Dan Egerton will be presenting "Dream with a Plan and Purpose" - a crucial topic for all independent agencies. And one of our favourite things to chat about too! We’re very much looking forward to the two days, and having lots of conversations about agency growth and purpose. #purposeledbusiness #thenetworkone #IndieSummit #agencyinsights #growthwithpurpose

PDLN wish the new Czech Publishers' Licensing Association all the very best in their plans to protect and license Czech content. Czech publishers establish a collective administrator of publishing rights Prague, January 22, 2024 - A new association founded by 17 Czech media companies today under the name Czech Publishers' Licensing Association (Správce licenčních práv vydavatelů, z.s. - SLPV) aims to represent Czech publishers vis-à-vis large online platforms. The goal of the collective administrator is to defend the rights of publishers towards users of their content, which include large technological platforms, search engines, social networks and press monitoring services, among others. The establishment of a collective administrator is the culmination of the work of Czech publishers, who negotiated about a collective administrator in the past year. According to official measurements, founding companies represent the absolute majority of the market of print publications in the Czech Republic. The founding members of SLPV are (in alphabetical order) BurdaMedia Extra s.r.o., Business Media CZ s.r.o., Czech News Center, a.s., Czech Radio, Czech Television, ČTK (Czech News Agency), Echo Media, a.s., Economia, a.s., FTV Prima, spol. s.r.o., Internet Info, s.r.o., MAFRA, a.s., N Media, a.s., Seznam.cz, a.s., Reportér magazín, s.r.o., RF Hobby, s.r.o., Trima News, s.r.o. and Vltava Labe Media, a.s. In accordance with the statutes of the association, the first Board of SLPV was elected by its founders today, with the following members: Mr. Jiří Majstr - chairman Mr. Michal Feix - vice-chairman Mr. Marek Antoš Mr. Michal Hanák Mr. Petr Marek Mr. Libor Matoušek Ms. Libuše Šmuclerová The members of the Supervisory Board are: Ms. Lenka Černá - chairwoman Mr. Jan Dosoudil Mr. Tomáš Tkačík "We will strive to ensure that as many media as possible can and want to use our services to their advantage. We all believe that the time has long come for not only the platforms to clearly show that the content we create has value for them, and that it is right for them to pay for its use in the same way as other users - from regular subscribers to monitoring agencies or companies and the state sector," the chairman of the Board of SLPV Mr. Jiří Majstr said today. "The association founded today, thanks to its wide plurality of members, represents the Czech market of publishers more than enough to successfully apply for authorization for the collective management of publishers' rights at the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic in the coming weeks," the vice-chairman of the Board of SLPV Mr. Michal Feix said today.

🧭Giving you clarity on how to articulate the value of your services so that you can easily attract clients who want to work with YOU & you only 🧲| Brand messaging strategist & website copywriter for women entrepreneurs
Important business question for someone planning on roadtripping for 3 weeks: What songs should I add to my playlist? 🤭 For anyone who’s been living under a LinkedIn rock: this copywriter & strategist will be roatripping in the US in 10 days. Aaaaaaaaand I’m working on separate playlists for different legs of the journey. Ideally, something that matches that area and vibe. Our core stops will be: 🔸Los Angeles -> Santa Cruz (look at the t-shirt🦇 If you know, you know) 🔸-> San Francisco 🔸-> Mount Hood 🔸-> Portland 🔸-> Forks & La Push (toooooootally not doing this for 13-year-old me who used to be obsessed with the Twilight books) 🔸-> Vancouver Island + Vancouver 🔸-> Seattle I already got some new ideas thanks to my lovely newsletter subscribers, but I need more. Will you drop your recommendations in the comments, pretty please? 🫶🏻 For context: I love 80s music and classic rock/pop in particular, but I'm open to different genres, too. Bonus brownie points if you also tell me what area/stretch of the journey it should go with. PS. Kat Gál, I'm hoping to visit some Twin Peaks places along the way (in North Bend) 🤩 PPS. It's too hot to wear my 80s blazer. I'm having an identity crisis

One of the basic things I said I was doing, when I quit my job to go freelance, was making more time and space for my own creative practice. I also said I figured I wouldn’t really fully be able to do that this year, while I’m getting the editorial business off the ground. But that’s the big exciting long-term dream. And on the one hand, I was right about that: I’m working on my visual art and my own writing in small-to-medium sized ways, but I can’t throw myself into them in major heave-ho ways because I’m still very much in the mist of figuring out what it means to support myself as a freelance editor and creative consultant. But on the other hand, there is something I had not anticipated (actually one amongst so, so many things I had not anticipated about this whole new career thing and, weirdly, most of those unanticipated things are, like, delightful? which is confusing for someone who is not, shall we say, an optimist). And the thing I had not anticipated is that it turns out I now seem to have a lot more head-space for what I might call creative life experimentation. Creative life experimentation? What the heck does that mean? Is that even a thing? Let me see if I can explain... Would you like to keep reading this? It's on Substack: https://lnkd.in/dMHrzcCA

You should apply pressure to yourself to get things done, but you also shouldn't be putting so much pressure on yourself that you don't get it done properly. Being prepared with the right amount of content, EPK ready, thinking about the releases after is what is going to set you apart from those that rush themselves and then have to play catch up because they just didn't give themselves enough time. EP, East Coast Music Supervisor, Video Editor / Producer - Music For Film / TV / Ads / Promos. Works with Netflix, Disney, MGM, Amazon, HBO, Paramount, Universal, WarnerMedia, Fox, NBC, All major ad agencies and more
Corporate Appreciation Video https://lnkd.in/eSsHKKnJ We here at ALIBI are particularly sensitive to the struggles of editors working on corporate content. Every creative decision you make must be finely tuned to leave an impression but not stand out, remain on brand but do something different, and in no uncertain terms leave anyone feeling anything other than pleasant. When it comes to music this makes most “corporate” options, even those composed for a celebratory tone, devastatingly boring. So we pulled a selection of cues that walks that tightrope perfectly: Nondescript, driving enough to carry an edit, tonally “positive” and, best of all, they are royalty-free and none of them suck!

Okay, I've been messing around on the guitar for years and actually started taking it super cereal last year. No joke, 0-0-0 on the low E string, especially when it's tuned lower, is such an effective tool for songwriting. Mute the thing, play it with chainsaw distortion or include a pinch harmonic (when I can actually do it properly); it all sounds good. Whatever you throw in afterward just crushes. Take “Omerta” by Lamb of God. It's one of their easiest songs to play, but it's 100% one of their best sounding. It ain't no “Redneck” or “Ashes of The Wake” in terms of riffing, but it still tops their most streamed songs. It's just a great reminder that you don't have to play like Eddie Van Halen to make something great. You've just got to be you, put your mark on the passage, and play with passion. It might not please the virtuosos, but it'll fuel your soul and shine your light out into the world. The same goes for content creation. It doesn't have to be perfect as long as it properly engages your intended audience. Sometimes, what you think is a C- is an A+ to someone else. No matter what you do, someone will always appreciate it.

Founder/Executive Producer/Producer/Writer at Wagtail Productions & Co-Founder at SeeView Entertainment
This is an insightful article on developing a stronger presense on your Linkedin platform.
Film Entrepreneur | Film & TV Producer | Virtual Production Producer | Sharing my knowledge for indie filmmakers to get money to make their movies, grow their audience, and earn an income.
If you want producers, investors, studios, or filmmakers to find you, then give them a beacon of light. Use LinkedIn as your bat signal. Those who share the most about their field are the ones who are most sought after. The more you talk about what you do, share your knowledge and your processes, the more connections in your field will want to network with you. If you build silently and privately, know one will know who you are or what you are creating exists. If you build publicly and vocally then yourself and your work will be sought after. We seek out the people who we believe can help us the most in our creative endeavors and we usually only find those people because they are vocal online. If you want to be sought after, then you must give people a reason to seek you out. The best way to do that is to create an unignorable online presence. If it is hard for you to figure out what to write or talk about, this is the strategy that I started with: - Share what you are working on - Share what you are learning - Share what is working - Share what is failing - Share who you are collaborating with Recently someone reached out to me and shared this: "I posted a "fail" based on your post encouraging that, and it has the most engagement by a multiple of 4 on anything else I've posted!" If you want to build your network and new connections the fastest way to do that is to make a presence that you exist. You could go and try to reach out or you can give them a bat signal that leads to you.
