On 20th July, Pedro Magalhães, General Manager of EU & NA Markets at #Arctech, attended the first edition of Energyear US event in #Houston and got a chance to share his insights into “Panel PANEL OF TECHNOLOGY: INNOVATION & COLLABORATION IN SOLAR TECHNOLOGY: HOW MANUFACTURERS AND EPC WORK TOGETHER TO HIT THE BEST LCOE” with solar experts from PVH - PVHardware, Alternative Power Generation, Inc. (APG), DEPCOM Power, Inc, and DNV.   At this panel discussion, Pedro said: “With increasing size of #solarmodules, the wind pressure onto modules is also increasing, therefore #solartrackers should be stiff enough in the #solarplants and keep on generating kilowatt hours to avoid wind instabilities.” To mitigate effects brought by large-formate modules (#LFM), #Arctech has introduced #rigidtrackers designed with the multi-point drive mechanism, which can enable trackers to stow horizontally, reducing pressures on modules and preventing modules from cracking and delamination.   When asked how to see the US market, Pedro thinks the US #solartracker market is very mature. Over the last two years, there has been a surge in manufacturers releasing more efficient solar panels based on high-performance N-type HJT, TOPCon, and Back-contact (IBC) cells. For those unfamiliar with the technical terminology, these are all monocrystalline (N-type) solar cell variations that have become dominant across the solar industry. I have fabricated the foldable Si HJT solar cells boasting an impressive efficiency exceeding 25.5%! The cells are quite flexible, compatible with mass production and retain 98% of their efficiency after 1000 head-to-tail bending cycles.
