Since March 2024, Attributes has joined the B Corp movement as a B Corp Pending company. What is B Corp? B for Benefit for all. Corp for Corporations. B Corp is a movement, a certification and a community: 🌊Movement: the B Corp movement started in 2006 with the idea that businesses could lead the way towards more a inclusive and positive economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. ✅Certification: B Corp certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency. To obtain the certification, each business goes through an holistic evaluation to assess the social and environmental business standards. The B Corp certification also demands continuous improvement in order to meet principles of inclusion, independence, and credibility. 🤝Community: today, the B Corp movement gathers more than 8000 businesses worldwide, from +150 industries, sharing the same ambition to balance profit with purpose. It's a full six years since we started our journey to become a B Corp. You might expect there was an epiphany moment that led us to certify 🤩 But the reality wasn’t anything like this at all… We read in a Sunday paper about this new way of doing business called B Corp. It was for organisations that made profits – yet with responsibility for looking after people and planet 🌍 Our entire career has been in the private sector, so we’re big believers in the power of competition and the innovation that it can spur. It’s just that we’ve seen too many cases where the pursuit of profit has caused collateral damage to other stakeholders.
