CEO & Founder of The Social Hub and NGO Movement on the Ground
For me, this morning started super early as a guest on the BBC Radio 5's “Wake Up to Money” show for an energising conversation. We had the chance to chat about The Social Hub and some of the key topics affecting businesses in the UK this week.
Check out the full conversation here: http://bit.ly/490LAYy.
A big thank you to the BBC News team and Will Bain for the opportunity to share our vision—conversations like these remind me why purpose-driven companies matter, not just for business, but for the communities we serve.
It was really great to be on the show with you as well Kathleen Brooks and Vasileios (Vas) Gkionakis.

Wat een inspirerend gesprek en een mooie kans om visie en impact te delen. Geweldig om bedrijven te zien die echt een verschil maken in de gemeenschap! 👏
"But what I truly do is I don't micromanage. I've really trained myself on that. I don't care whether you are a small organization or a big organization....Trust the people that you have in place to do their job. Check-in with them. Know what's going on, but let them do their job."
Michael Abernathy, President & CEO of Buckeye State Credit Union, joined us last week on Mind Matters. Michael Abernathy's story is one of hardship met with tenacity, networking, and the power of maintaining professional relationships. Be sure to check out the episode if you haven't already!

The debate on the widening divide between the #CEOcompensation and that of the rank and file has got reignited. In an interview on national television, I share my philosophical concern on it. Also, is there a strategic miss while securing a tactical win? And what does it really do when you want your talent to stay with you in moments of war for talent ? If the agenda interests you, please watch the interview. And share your perspectives . #PrabirInsights#Leadership#CEOPay#BoardGovernance#CulturePRABIR JHA PEOPLE ADVISORYhttps://lnkd.in/dDQzyr-Z
People don't expect the government to resolve every issue they face. However, there is a deep-seated belief that with a small shift in priorities, we can ensure that the next generation has a fair chance at a better life, and that opportunities remain accessible to everyone.
The audacity of hope.
People should have the power to shape their places and communities.
People have long been working together to support each other, improve their areas and tackle problems like inequality, local decline, loneliness and
mistrust - but making a difference is still such an uphill struggle. Recent years have made it clear that governments need to work in partnership with
communities to tackle the overlapping economic, health and environmental
crises that continue to shape our lives. But our current system does not make
this easy.
We need to trust the people who know their areas. We need to put power in
the hands of our communities to shape the places where they live.
We believe in a community-powered UK. Where decisions are made at the
most local level possible, and people’s understanding of and passion for their areas is embraced and put to good use. Where community organisations and groups are trusted and supported to get on with the work of improving their places, and public institutions work in genuine partnership with communities. A Community Power Act, a major piece of legislation would fundamentally change where power lies in this country. It would give communities more control over the spaces, services and spending decisions which shape their places and futures.
So my message to all those standing for election is ''We're Right Here'
