Have you ever noticed how some social media posts seem designed to spark outrage? That’s called rage bait – content created solely to provoke anger and fuel debates, often at the expense of critical issues such as violence against women and girls (VAWG). Our latest blog, The Impact of Rage Bait, delves into this manipulative tactic, spotlighting examples from today’s influencers. Their inflammatory remarks about gender roles and violence against women and girls (VAWG) may generate significant online engagement but come at the cost of distorting meaningful conversations and shifting focus away from critical issues. 📖 This #16DaysOfActivism, educate yourself on how rage bait undermines important discussions and discover how to resist its pull. 💡 Learn more and take action. Together, we can rise above the noise. Read here: https://lnkd.in/eGrwq487

Following up on my post from yesterday about manual searching, I began focusing on manually searching for influencers in March 2024!!! To my absolute SURPRISE, the signups and results completely BLEW ME AWAY! There’s nothing more rewarding than satisfied CLIENTS—they’re the ultimate recognition above everything else! Over the course of 9 months, I’ve manually discovered an incredible 4,821 influencers. It feels like I’ve built my very own database, and I couldn’t be more PROUD of this achievement! Some important niches I have worked on 🌟 lifestyle (Men & Women) 🌟 beauty/skincare/makeup/hair 🌟 Cat and Dog influencers 🌟 Runner/adventure/fitness/sports/outdoor activities 🌟 Motherhood/family 🌟 LGBTQ 🌟 Foodie While other outreach methods, like using influencer marketing platforms or databases, can save time, manual searching offers a deeper level of insight and customization that is often necessary for impactful and authentic collaborations. It ensures our investment in influencer marketing is well-targeted and aligned with the brand's goals. #influencermarketing #influencers #creatoreconomy #marketing

The media landscape continues to shift underneath our feet, whether we like it or not. I noticed news influencers' impact on politics and the information economy during the Democratic National Convention. Several news media outlets reported on the internal scuffles in the information sphere at the convention, as these influencers challenged legacy media (corporate media) and fought for relevance and physical space within the convention itself. The impact of social media on journalism cannot be overstated, as it has fundamentally changed how news is gathered, shared, and consumed. My latest -

We’re on a dangerous trend. New research shows there is a growing echo-chamber of disrespect online with influencers targeting young boys with misogynistic content. We can’t let these hateful views influencing our children remain unchallenged. That’s why the Albanese Labor Government has launched a new phase of the award-winning, evidence-based Stop it at the Start campaign. Our plan is to counter these dangerous extremist voices in the social media spaces where they are being viewed, like Snapchat, Meta and TikTok. The new Stop it at the Start campaign is available at: www.respect.gov.au The Albanese Labor Government is committed to ending violence against women in a generation.

Our research reveals that over half of young men aged 13-25 are exposed to the effects of #Misogynistic content on #SocialMedia, either directly or through their social circles. Surprised? There's more to uncover. 👇 Question: Are young men being bombarded with misogynistic content on social media, and is this trend causing a disturbing societal shift? Influencers like Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson, known for their 'Red Pill' content, provide a sense of belonging and validation while promoting harmful advice on men's roles in society. Their business model specifically targets young men. According to our survey, 35% of respondents admitted to being personally influenced by misogynistic or hateful content on social media, and 17% know someone who has been influenced. When we asked 'how,' these were some of the responses... Read more below. #GenderEquality #GenderBias #Sexism https://lnkd.in/dQ-iuhgS

Had the best morning at Influencer Upfronts hosted by Sharyn Smith at Social Soup (Australia & NZ) 🤩 Here are some interesting things we learned today from Social Soup's research: 💰 A lot of people who took action on purchasing a product after watching an influencer video didn't even like or comment on it (showing that these metrics alone don't paint the full picture of the success of a campaign/video) 📱 People don't necessarily have to be following us for us to influence them, but having a high amount of trust does play a big part 💕 What 'RELATABLE' actually means to the people watching our videos 🧠 Informative content will move people down the purchasing funnel to consideration or conversion faster than 'funny' or 'aspirational' content Here is what we shared 🎤 : Q: How do you choose the brands you work with? A: We consider a lot, such as... Do we like and use this brands products? Do we align with the brief/product? Do we share similar values with the brand? Have they worked with LGBT+ creators before? What are the time-lines and deliverables like? Will this resonate with our community? and most importantly, can we see ourselves building a long term relationship with this brand? Q: What makes a good brief? A: 1-3 key messages, video mood board, what NOT to say/do, creative freedom and the ability to jump on a call with the brand/agency to discuss ideas (when it's a large campaign) Q: Whats the best way to go about feedback when working with an influencer? A: Come together collaboratively and allow necessary time for revisions to be made (also be clear about re-shoots, feedback in contracts up front too). Thanks for having us! Happy to meet Pragadeesh Jagad from தேநீர் இடைவேளை (Theneer Idaivelai) YouTube Channel at the Social Media Influencer Workshop 🧑🦼🎬📱 Had an opportunity to interact and discuss with him the necessity of bringing more Disability Awareness Contents too through his channels, because he has been one of Pioneer in completely bringing Awareness Contents to the public which is not much aware in our day to day activities. Hopefully soon we can work together more on the disability community too. #SathishOnWheels #SocialMediaInfluencer #SocialMediaInnovation #InclusivityMatters #ArtsForAll #DreamsComeTrue #AccessForAll #EmpowerThroughArts #ActingWorkshop #EmbraceOpportunities #LightsCameraAction #WheelchairLife #SelfConfidence #Learning #DisabilityAwareness #ActingWorkshop #TheatreGroup #digitalinfluencer #DigitalCreator #WheelchairYoutuber #Pragadeesh #TheneerIdaivelai #DigitalMarketing #ContentCreator #DisabilityContents #contentcreatortips
