Qualified Professional, and President/Liaison for UOCO (USA), UpperNile Orphans Care Organization (USA)
Peace is possible... indeed, peace is crucial.
In the laughter of children lies the universal language of hope. To mark the year’s end at World Health Organization, our staff brought their children to the office for a day. I was inspired by their innocence and pure happiness. Let’s turn their laughter into inspiration to unite together, transcend borders and overcome global challenges. Let's work together for a healthier, safer and more peaceful world.

As an HR executive, living and working with compassion means prioritizing the well-being of our employees, who in turn dedicate themselves to the care of our residents. Unlike my colleagues and co-workers, whose primary focus is directly on our residents—from custodians and maintenance staff to CNAs, LPNs, RNs—my focus is on the people who make our mission possible: our employees. Compassion in my role involves ensuring that our team members have the support they need to thrive, both professionally and personally. This means crafting and implementing policies and procedures that not only foster a positive work environment but also empower our staff to deliver the best possible care to our residents. By working compassionately, we create a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and equipped to provide compassionate care. It’s about recognizing the vital role each team member plays and ensuring they have the resources and environment needed to succeed. When we care for our employees with the same dedication they show our residents, we build a stronger, more resilient organization. It’s a cycle of care that starts with us and radiates out to every individual we serve.

I transform lives amid serious illnesses, tending to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs | Consultant in Palliative Care | Assisted Living Facility | Counselling
The tapestry of life is woven with threads of joy, sorrow, and everything in between. We all journey through this tapestry, experiencing its vibrant colors and its shadowed corners. When the threads of life begin to fray, the tapestry can feel fragile, the colors muted. This is where the concept of 'life after life' takes on profound meaning. It's not about denying death, but embracing the possibility of extending life, of weaving new threads into the tapestry, even when it seems nearly impossible. It's about ensuring that every individual, regardless of their health status, has access to the utmost love, care, and medical expertise that can help them live their final days with dignity and comfort. We believe that every human being has an intrinsic right to live, and that includes the right to a dignified death. This right is not just a personal choice, but a societal responsibility. We must create a world where individuals are not forced to face their final days alone, where families are empowered to provide love and support, and where medical professionals are equipped to offer compassionate care. This is the true meaning of 'life after life': extending the tapestry of life as far as possible, with love, care, and respect for the individual's journey. Let us extend our support, and make life matter, even in its final moments.

It's often said that to truly understand the essence of life, you should visit these three places: 1. **Hospital**: In a hospital, you'll witness the fragility of life. You'll see people fighting for their lives, babies being born, and medical professionals working tirelessly. It’s a place where life begins and, sometimes, ends. It teaches you the value of health and the importance of caring for one another. 2. **Prison**: Visiting a prison provides insights into how lives can go astray due to various circumstances. It’s a powerful reminder of the consequences of choices, societal influences, and the importance of freedom. It makes you reflect on justice, rehabilitation, and sometimes inequities within the system. 3. **Cemetery**: In a cemetery, you confront the finality of life. It’s a solemn reminder that life is temporary and time is precious. It encourages people to ponder mortality, the importance of leaving a legacy, and cherishing the moments and relationships while they can. Each place offers a unique perspective on the different stages and conditions of life, reminding us to live thoughtfully and compassionately.

As an HR executive, excellence is not about achieving perfection; it’s about fostering a mindset of continuous growth and commitment to our mission and vision. It’s about taking bold, decisive actions—even when they’re imperfect. This perspective reminds me of Teddy Roosevelt's quote about the man in the arena—someone who dares greatly and strives valiantly. In my role, excellence means creating an environment where our employees are not only empowered but inspired to take initiative, make impactful decisions, and continuously learn and evolve. It’s about championing a culture of resilience, innovation, and relentless pursuit of improvement. We embody excellence by: • Providing comprehensive opportunities for professional development and career advancement. • Encouraging transparent communication and a feedback-rich environment to drive innovation. • Celebrating the achievements and contributions of our team members, recognizing their efforts in pushing boundaries and setting new standards. Excellence is a journey of daring greatly, taking informed risks, and turning challenges into opportunities. It’s about showing up every day with ambition and dedication, knowing that our collective efforts elevate the quality of care we provide and propel our organization forward. What does excellence mean to you in your role? How do you pursue and embody excellence in your daily work? I’d love to hear your insights and experiences. #MissionMotivated #ManInTheArena #ExcellenceNotPerfection #GrandTraversePavilions
