One of the most powerful techniques to promote balance and tranquility in the body and mind is Sama Vritti, which translates to "Equal Breathing" in Sanskrit. Below are the steps for practicing Sama Vritti: 1.Sit or lie down in a comfortable position, ensuring that your spine is straight and your body is relaxed. 2.Close your eyes gently and bring your awareness to your breath. Notice the natural rhythm of your breath without trying to change it initially. 3.Inhale through your nose for a specific count, such as four counts. As you inhale, focus on filling your lungs completely with air, allowing your abdomen to rise gently. 4.Exhale through your nose for the same count as your inhalation, ensuring that the exhalation is smooth and controlled. As you exhale, feel your abdomen gently contract as you release the air from your lungs. 5.Continue inhaling and exhaling for the same count, maintaining the equal ratio of breath. For example, if you inhale for a count of four, exhale for a count of four as well. 6.Throughout the practice, keep your attention on the sensation of the breath as it enters and leaves your body. 7.If your mind wanders or becomes distracted, gently guide your focus back to the breath without judgment. #breathingtechniques #meditation #tranquility #calmness
