Field > office > work from home. In terms of how fast you can gain experience, I would say these are at least an order of magnitude apart from each other.
The best Controls Engineers are the ones who spend a lot of time in the field. If you are inexperienced, get out in the field as much as possible. It's dirty, hard, and uncomfortable but it's the best thing for you. Don't waste your time sitting behind a desk.

They often are the best programmer, because they get to expirience why you shouldn't turn on a pump before opening the chiller isolation valve!!! Field expirience is the best way to learn before go into engineering.

🚨 Production Breakdown? Safety First! ⚡ Recently, during a critical production run, we faced an unexpected breakdown due to a faulty safety relay. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, working under pressure is a fun part of the job. With production on hold and the clock ticking, I quickly diagnosed the issue and replaced the faulty relay, ensuring the system was back online safely and efficiently. 🛠️ Every time I work under such pressure, it's a new opportunity to learn and grow. Here’s what I take away from these situations: ✅ Prioritize safety, even in urgent situations. ✅ Quick thinking and precise execution are key to minimizing downtime. ✅ Each breakdown is a chance to sharpen problem-solving skills. Proud to be part of a team that keeps things running smoothly, even when the unexpected happens! 💡 #ElectricalMaintenance #ProblemSolving #SafetyFirst #ProductionLine #EngineeringUnderPressure #ContinuousLearning
