Finding the perfect Executive Assistant is both an art and a science.🎨🔬 Picture a VP and an EA candidate. The EA might look like a good match in terms of skill set and experience on paper, but we take it a step further. We use DRAKE P3 behavior testing to see how well-suited a candidate is when it comes to personality, values, and how they would fit into an overall team, and specific industry. The test looks at motivators, demotivators, communication style, character strengths, emotional intelligence, conscientiousness, ability to adapt, stress level, energy levels, and limitations to ensure a great fit. This approach reduces time to hire, matching candidates with employers based on mutual values, visions, and requirements. Ready to find your ideal EA? How I deprived myself of a job opportunity (and hopefully saved the employer some money) 😎 The role of Chief of Staff (CoS) is gaining popularity in the Polish market, largely driven by trends on LinkedIn. However, I’ve noticed many companies are seeking a CoS without fully understanding whether they need one—or if what they actually need is an Executive Assistant (EA). In some cases, I’ve seen CoS job descriptions with responsibilities and salaries that would bore even a slightly experienced EA. Recently, I applied for one of the few CoS roles in Poland with a genuinely broad scope of responsibilities and a reasonable salary. During a great conversation with the recruiter, I naturally asked why they were hiring a CoS instead of an EA. The answer was thoughtful and made sense. However, a few days later, the recruiter called back to inform me that after our discussion (and likely others), they realized what they truly needed was a strong EA—not a CoS. Slightly sad, but this was a win-win for both sides! I firmly believe that every CEO needs an EA, but not every CEO needs a CoS. CEOs juggle countless meetings, emails, and presentations—tasks perfectly suited for an EA. The CoS role is far more strategic, designed to fill gaps or expand leadership capacity in key areas that don't justify creating entirely new positions. For example, if a company does not need a Head of HR but still needs HR oversight, a CoS could bridge that gap—if not hugely weighed down by administrative tasks. Or if your company is quite small and you need an organised across-the-board professional - CoS might be a great addition. What’s your take? Does every CEO need a Chief of Staff, or is this role being misused?

🌟 Excuse me grabbing your attention with a picture of Monty again 😆 BUT I just had to share this wonderful reference I received for one of my fabulous Executive Assistants and what better way to catch your eye than with this little darling?! Now that I have your attention, I’d love to share some snippets from the reference to give you an idea of the sort of support you could receive from such an EA👇 🤩 Director: ‘As a new joiner to the business, it was incredibly helpful to me to have someone as capable, knowledgeable and committed to help me land and thrive in the business. They fulfilled all of the role of an EA for me, managing my diary strategically and tactically to ensure that I delivered maximum impact. From the outset I appreciated their assertive and empathetic style of working. They were able to effectively balance and prioritise their workload to ensure I always had what I needed, when I needed it. They are adept at building strong and values-based relationships both within the business and with my clients. This ensured that they could deconflict problems and balance priorities really effectively, keeping everyone on side and delighted. Beyond the day to day EA responsibilities, they helped me organise and deliver our regular Leadership retreats. They managed everything from hotel bookings, meals, room and venue setup, PowerPoint slide preparation and production, agenda setting and ran the logistics over the 36 hours. Without them it simply wouldn’t have been possible to delver the impact those sessions had.’ Wow! 👏 An Executive Assistant is capable of SO much more than a lot of businesses realise and hiring the right EA can be a total game changer. How would it feel to have the support of someone like this in your business? 🤔 If you would like more information or would like to meet this wonderful EA, please get in touch - I’d love the opportunity to tell you all about them! #hiring #executiveassistant #oxfordshire #oxford #talent Exec Recruitment Solutions Jennifer Williams Emma Reeder

Chief of Staff to CEOs | Amazon #1 New Release AUTHOR “Unlocking Your Inner Chief of Staff” | Ethical AI & Authentic Leadership Keynote Speaker | Board Chair, AI FOR JOB SECURITY
If you’re looking for a Senior Executive Assistant, call it what it is and still pay the role accordingly. 👏✅👍🏾 Too many companies have no clue what a Chief of Staff is or the role they perform. These same companies seem to misunderstand the leadership nature of a Senior Executive Assistant as well. However, the answer isn’t to just randomly choose a title based on your limited view of what either role can truly offer. Instead, if you want to get the most out of the Chief of Staff role, turn to experts who can help (www.cosleaderscircle.com, Leigh Felton, Clara Ma, Tyler Parris). There are books, newsletters, postings and so much more on the function, there really is no excuse to still get it wrong and mixed up with other positions. Signing vendor contracts, planning company events, arranging travel, workspace management… ALL of these things can and should be trusted to a Senior Executive Assistant. People downplay the EA role only because they don’t know how talented these individuals truly are. I have and will always seek mutual trust and respect with my EA partner. We have different functions, but we both have invaluable skills that can truly transform an organization. Admittedly, I am not an expert on the EA role. But there are others I follow and trust in promoting and being activists for helping drive clarity of what it means to be a leader in the Executive Assistant function! (Jan Jones, Victoria Wratten, Jeremy Burrows, Kylie Davies, Laurie Resch, Erinn Jacobson, and so many others!) #ChiefofStaff #ExecutiveAssistant #Hiring #Jobs
