Wine Sales in France 1988-2022, by Color. The rise of rosé and the fall of red. Between 1988 and 2022, red wine's share fell from 83% to 44%. That is, the overall decline in France's wine sales is exclusively due to the decline in red wine sales. While white wine sales have been flat, rosé sales have been surging. Rosé's share grew from 9% to 35% (by volume).
