The Value of Recognizing Talent: Lessons from Toni Kroos' Departure from Bayern Munich In 2014, the football world was shocked when Toni Kroos left Bayern Munich for Real Madrid. Despite being a key player, Bayern failed to meet Kroos' valuation of his worth. Instead, they invested heavily in other players, which underscored the impact of not fully valuing their existing talent. This oversight didn't just cost them a player; it lost them one of the most talented midfielders of his generation. What can we learn from this in the corporate world? 1. Recognize and Reward Talent: Just like in football, every organization has star performers whose contributions are invaluable. It's crucial to recognize their worth and reward them appropriately. Kroos’ departure underscores the importance of ensuring employees feel valued and adequately compensated. 2. Understand Individual Needs: Every employee has unique aspirations and needs. Engaging in open dialogues about career goals and expectations can prevent top talent from seeking opportunities elsewhere. 3. Invest in People, Not Just Positions: Bayern Munich learned that players, much like employees, are more than their positions or titles. Investing in their growth and satisfaction fosters loyalty and long-term success. In an environment that acknowledged his worth, Toni Kroos went on to show his true talent at Real Madrid, becoming a cornerstone of their golden era and achieving incredible success. This highlights the power of recognizing and nurturing talent within any organization. #EmployeeEngagement #TalentManagement

„Life on Earth“ was the first book I asked for as a child, and it had a profound impact on how I see the world. David Attenborough’s work introduced me to the breathtaking biodiversity of our planet, from the arid deserts to lush jungles, from the deep seas to the icy poles. He showed how each life on this planet is interconnected and finely tuned together. I remember vividly reading about the Albatross, with its impressive wingspan, in his book "The Living Planet"; the mesmerizing dance of the bird of paradise, and the gigantic Goliath beetle as big as my palm in "Life on Earth." Each story deepened my awe for the natural world. Einstein once remarked, "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle" (attributed to him though not definitively proven). David Attenborough embodies this philosophy, revealing to us the miracles all around. Today, his message is more urgent than ever as we face the sixth mass extinction. Unlike previous events caused by natural phenomena, this extinction is driven by human activity, including habitat destruction, climate change, and pollution. Researchers indicate we are currently witnessing species going extinct at rates much higher than the natural background rates, highlighting the critical need for urgent action to prevent future loss. As a conscious species, it is our duty to protect the miracle of life on this blue planet. We are not the end result of evolution but a part of it. Our future depends on the conscious decisions we make today. Humanity cannot thrive without respecting and protecting all living beings on our planet, our home. Thank you, David Attenborough, for inspiring us to see and safeguard the wonders of our world. 🌿 #Biodiversity #Conservation #DavidAttenborough #LifeOnEarth #ProtectOurPlanet

Bayern Munich CEO Rummenigge told Toni Kroos: "We won't pay you more than €10M per year. You're not a world class player." Toni Kroos was running out of contract in 2013/14. He was offered less than €10M per year in a new deal which was lesser than Mario Gotze. Pep Guardiola did his best to keep him but couldn't do much with the rift between board & player. He was offered to Barcelona twice by his agent which Luis Enrique rejected both times and chose Rakitic. While Perez bought James, Toni was asked for by Ancelotti. 45,000 fans attended the presentation of James while only 8000 appeared for Kroos. Nothing but huge respect and thanks to Rummenigge and Luis Enrique for allowing his move to RealMadrid. And as his agent said, "Steal of the Century." 7 years of the Shy German Sniper. Now, Toni Kroos is One of the most consistent player who won every possible trophy and was part of Real Madrid's success of last decade. Even, He is recalled to German National Team.
