#frenchdining #life i recalled the post by Annette Andrina Pereira on burnout when i was out for my night 🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♂️. then a thought came into mind; my #bisociation mind kick in and i started to connect the dots. what i saw mentally was; #frenchdining and #life, there are similarities. french fine dining as many know is about Quality over quantity, shouldn’t living too be like that? in French dining, is always about: ✳️ the ambience. ✳️ the Quality of the food from ingredient to cooking to taste to texture to presentation. it is all about satisfying all the senses. ✳️ the company. ✳️ the conversation. what stood out about French fine dining is two characteristics: 1️⃣ the bite size of each dish. quality over quantity. 2️⃣ the slow pace without the rush to get the dinner done with ASAP. they let you slowly enjoy the food. they want your mind to enjoy a stimulated palate. i see French fine dining as very much a #mindfulness dining experience. you take the time to observe, experience and enjoy the palate sensations. that palate sensation can be a great conversation topic during dinner. take a moment to ponder, shouldn’t the best of life ought to be lived similarly instead of the mechanistic rush from one task to the next? the rushed motion of getting things done? life is not a motion of mad rush to complete rather it is moments of unhurried joy, stopping every now and then to smell the roses. never lose the forest for the trees. treat life like enjoying a French fine dining experience instead of the hurried kiasu buffer dinner. i am living my life ala the French fine dining approach, taking my time without rushing to simply savour and enjoy every moment of my NOW and HERE. precisely how the French wanted you to enjoy their food. its a wholesome experience.
