(TW: 🍇) "I Think" written and performed by moi. After going to my first open mic, hosted by Lavender Club, as an audience member I found that I had a poem stuck inside me that needed to be written and to be spoken. It took three emotional months of starting, stopping, emotional processing, starting, and rewriting to finish. It's one of the hardest things I've written but I think it's important. As victims and survivors of sexual assault we're made to feel so much shame when it's not even our fault. Why do we bear the burden of shame when it's other people who are the perpetrators of so much bodily, mental, and emotional harm? They should be the ones to carry those shackles; not us. That shame, the feeling of brokenness, the feeling that no one will believe you, the anger, the feeling of worthlessness, those don't come from ourselves. Those are put on us by societies that would rather protect the status quo. They are put on us by people who would rather sit in their privilege rather than confront the systems that allow this behaviour but that they also benefit from. They are put on us so that we will stay small, beaten, and quiet. They are put on us so that those who have gained power through oppression can continue to maintain power through continued oppression and violence. Sound familiar? That's because it has been and is happening all around us locally and globally. Free Palestine? Land back? Black lives matter? Trans rights are human rights? Reproductive rights? Yes to all. It's a fight against the same people, same systems. Can't your see? It's the same fight. "Until we are all free, we are none of us free" #🍇 #freepalestine #landback #poetry #representationMatters #QTBIPOC #asianTrans #transModel #thisIsWhatTransLooksLike #transisBeautiful #girlslikeus #transOver40

Today's #ywcahbg21daychallenge resources discuss how, for many transgender and nonbinary people, accessing gender-affirming care is a crucial aspect of realizing their authentic selves. Gender-affirming care encompasses various medical and non-medical interventions and looks different for children, teens and adults. Despite how critical this care is to trans and nonbinary people's mental and physical health, gender-affirming care has become increasingly restricted and too often misunderstood. Supporting bodily autonomy for transgender people not only acknowledges their fundamental human rights but also promotes inclusivity and empathy, fostering a society that respects and values the diversity of gender experiences. https://lnkd.in/ejr_MyDe

🌈 Breaking News: Greece Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage! 🇬🇷 In a historic move, Greece becomes the first Christian Orthodox-majority country to legalize same-sex marriage, alongside allowing same-sex couples to adopt children. The landmark decision passed with a 176-76 vote in parliament, marks a significant step towards equality and inclusion in the nation. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis hailed the new law as a bold step towards abolishing inequality, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and affirming the rights of all citizens. However, the legislation has sparked division, with opposition led by the Orthodox Church, citing concerns about social cohesion. Despite the resistance, the bill received overwhelming support, reflecting a growing acceptance of diversity and progress in Greek society. LGBTQ organizations celebrate the milestone, recognizing it as a historic moment of joy and inclusivity. With this legislation, Greece joins the ranks of countries advancing LGBTQ rights and marriage equality, setting an example for others in the region. 🌈✨ Good News from Greece! 🇬🇷✨ I just finished "The Durrells in Corfu" on Amazon Prime with my kids, and there is a subplot about a gay man facing 1930s homophobia and criminalization on the island. In a historic move, Greece is set to become THIS THURSDAY the first Orthodox Christian country to legalize same-sex marriage, marking a monumental leap towards equality and love in all its forms. 🏳️🌈💍 The parliament vote will change lives, offering countless couples the dignity, recognition, and rights that were stolen from them for so long. When #Ghana and #Russia are going down the path of regression, Greece's step forward sends a powerful message worldwide: progress, inclusion, and equality can prevail. 🌍❤️ Here's a comprehensive article covering the news for those looking to dive deeper into this pivotal moment. 🎉🙌 https://lnkd.in/ehcaCWRK #Equality #Inclusion #HumanRights #LoveWins #GreeceSameSexMarriage

One verse commonly misinterpreted by both those in and outside the church is Galatians 3:28. It has been used to support women pastoring and homosexuality. However, verses 1, 8, 13, 14, 22, 23, 24 and 26 clearly shows Paul was talking about salvation. Salvation does not remove established authority by God. Even Christians who are saved are still to submit to unbelieving governing authorities (Rom 13:1) #ScriptureInterpretation #BibleStudy #UnderstandingTheWord #InterpretingScripture #BiblicalWisdom #UnsettledFaith #LGBTQandFaith #UnsettlingQuestions
Don't use Galatians 3:28 to support pastoring and gayism.

😡Silence equates to complicity😡 It is deeply concerning to observe the apparent disconnection and hypocrisy displayed by certain global leaders, activists, and advocates of women's rights in the face of the ongoing genocides. These atrocities, which demand urgent and decisive action, are being met with a concerning level of indifference. How alarming is it to witness the silence of those who typically champion the cause of life in other contexts, yet remain conspicuously silent in the face of such barbarity. This lack of vocal condemnation and action in the face of clear human rights violations calls for serious reflection. #palestine #endthegenocide #israel #stopapartheid #illegaloccupation #palestinian #humanrights #warcrimes #Israeli #netanyahu #colonialism #women #pregnant #prolife #hypocrisy #Israelis #hostages #protests #silence #activist #advicates #womensrights #palestinianlivesmatter #occupiers #occupied #oppressed #freedom #accountability #humanlife #complicit

🩷🧡💛 36 out of 195 countries have legalized equal marriage: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Uruguay. In 2023, three new countries legalized same-sex marriage (Andorra, Estonia and Slovenia), and three more made progress towards decriminalizing same-sex unions: a Japanese court ruled it is unconstitutional for the nation not to legally recognize same-sex unions. And the Supreme Courts of Nepal and Namibia recognized marriages of same-sex couples registered abroad. Already in 2024, two more countries have said "I do" to equal rights. 💛🧡🩷
