Sustainable Stylist | Ethical Fashion | Community Organiser | Speaker | Social Justice - Equity - Representation - Sustainability
Not sure why this has taken me so long to share, but in my attempt to practise more joy this week amidst the ongoing atrocities in the world, I wanted to share this podcast interview I was featured on from November last year after a breakfast session I spoke at in Adelaide for Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA). In the session we talked about how wearing our values is a way to represent and be our most authentic selves. In this little audio snippet we chat about: - Dressing to stand out instead of fitting in - How clothing and style is a way to start conversations - Being a good trouble maker through clothing as a way to challenge what is appropriate work wear in a professional services industry - Ethic/cultural dress in all spaces - The difference between connecting & belonging and self expression & individuality when it come to the clothes we choose to wear - Dressing outside of the binary - How your outfit is an opening statement and breaks the ice - Displaying your heart on the sleeve is a truth and vulnerability piece - We question: what is the worst that will happen if you wear a sparkly jacket to work? You might be surprised. Would love for you to tune in - please share your thoughts in the comment section below. #sustainablefashion #perosonalstyle #wearyourvalues #authenticdress #purposeoverprofit #sustinablestylist #ethics

You've heard about fast fashion. But what about Ultra-Fast fashion? This new category, coined Ultra Fast Fashion speeds up the cycle of production, trends, and waste exponentially, causing greater issues environmentally and ethically. What's the difference between Ultra Fast Fashion and Fast Fashion and why should you be sprinting from UFF like it's carrying a plague (which it kind of is)? Tune in to my latest episode for my opinion on Ultra Fast Fashion, why I think it's the tobacco of the fashion industry, and how we can shop more sustainably.

Remember the whole drama a few years ago about the color of a dress? This podcast/ article tries to make sense of it. Key takeaways for me included: - - We need a culture of awareness and intellectual modesty that counteracts the evolutionary tendency to jump to conclusions and then commit to them. - We have natural blindspots for the ways we might misinterpret reality. Or in simple terms, 'we are blind to our blindspots'. https://lnkd.in/da4iU8bv
