No8 Essentials No. 8 Essentials was born out of interest in using essential oils to make natural perfumes, by avoiding cheap chemicals. In saying that, after much research we have realised that many natural compounds that we were planning to use in our products were also beneficial for skin health. As we started to formulate and test our natural products (on humans only!), the results were convincing: • Acne treatments that cleared up bad breakouts and could even stop pimples from developing • Oil mixes that were effective at moisturising lifelong dry skin But we haven’t stopped there. Plastic was also one of the issues that we were looking to solve. That is why all our products are placed in cardboard tubes that can be later onto discarded into compost. Today, we’re still going strong and make 100% natural perfumes – currently in solid form, with liquid perfumes coming in the future! Where does the name come from? 8-gauge [number 8] fencing wire came to New Zealand over 150 years ago and revolutionised our farms. Resources were scarce in our far-flung idyll, so wire scraps were used to repair just about anything around the farm or home. And so New Zealand’s No. 8 ways began. We have humble and innovative beginnings, so (over a couple of refreshments at Wellington’s craft beer bars) we added a nod to our use of essential oils and No. 8 Essentials was born! Unveiling the Power of Nature: Natural Ingredients in Handmade Soap For centuries, soap has been a cornerstone of personal hygiene. But in today's world of mass production and harsh chemicals, many people are turning back to the natural goodness of handmade soap. These soaps, crafted with love and care, offer a multitude of benefits for your skin and well-being, all thanks to the power of natural ingredients. A Symphony of Nature's Bounty: Handmade soaps often boast a symphony of natural ingredients, each chosen for its unique properties: Vegetable Oils: Olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil are just a few examples. These oils provide a luxurious lather, moisturize the skin, and possess inherent cleansing properties. Butters: Shea butter and cocoa butter are renowned for their ability to deeply nourish and soften the skin. Essential Oils: These concentrated plant extracts offer not only a delightful aroma but also additional benefits like stress relief (lavender) or invigorating properties (citrus). Beyond Gentle Cleansing: The benefits of natural ingredients extend far beyond simple cleansing. Here's how handmade soap can nurture your skin: Gentleness: Free from harsh chemicals and synthetic fragrances, natural soaps are less likely to irritate sensitive skin. Moisturizing Power: Many natural oils and butters possess inherent moisturizing properties, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple. Targeted Benefits: Specific ingredients can be chosen for their targeted effects. Oatmeal soothes, while clays gently exfoliate. Embrace the Natural Difference: There's more to handmade soap than just its gentle nature. It's about: Sustainability: Many soap makers prioritize eco-friendly practices and local sourcing. Uniqueness: Each handcrafted bar is one-of-a-kind, offering a bespoke bathing experience. Supporting Small Businesses: Choosing handmade soap empowers local artisans and strengthens the community. #naturalsoap #handmadesoap #skincare #naturalingredients #chemicalfree #moisturizing #sustainableliving #supportsmallbusiness #tranquilstudio Embrace the power of nature in your daily routine. Discover the beauty benefits of grape seed oil in its raw form and imagine the additional benefits it could bring when added to YOUR product!✨ Practical uses: 🍇Hydration treatment: Massage the oil into your hair, wrap it up, and let it rest for about 20 minutes. Follow with a gentle shampoo wash. For added benefits, mix it with essential oils like lavender or rosemary. 🍇De-frizzing: Apply it like a leave-in conditioner. A few drops rubbed between your palms and brushed through the hair can combat frizz and impart a healthy glow. 🍇Shine-enhancing mask: Merge 1/4 cup grapeseed oil with half an avocado or three egg yolks. Apply the mixture to your hair, let it sit for an hour, then rinse off. Try it yourself and you will see why we call it green gold?
