Change demands adaptation, e.g. the process of becoming fitted to the environment. This involves integrating multiple adaptive components, not just one extreme part. However, many organisations are endorsing extreme positions - like avid soccer fans. The teams in action: 1️⃣ The ultra-traditionalist dinosaurs ↳ Embodying Executives Nostalgia ↳ Leading “by walking around” - thank you Brian Elliott for this. ↳ Fixating on the irreplaceability of in-person interactions ↳ Sticking to 5-day office policies, resisting changes in business and work. 2️⃣ The ultra-flexible backpackers ↳ Showcasing laptops in exotic locations, from white beaches to Rome's rooftop terraces. ↳ Ensuring AI will finally eliminate meaningless jobs - aka Graeber's “Bullshit Jobs”. ↳ Promoting digital nomadism throughout life while earning seven figures. ↳ Even blaming the yearly Christmas party: no need to meet people in person, ever. While a few may adopt extreme positions, it is unlikely that either option will gain massive long-term adoption. Instead, a flexible combination of both, based on values and preferences, will do. ✨ This goes far beyond seeking a compromise; it involves recognizing and appreciating the fundamental fact that everyone is unique and thrive in different ways ✨ For Execs aiming to navigate the future of work, here are three golden rules: ✅ Build an intentional culture to ensure people know what the organization stands for. ✅ Personalize the employee experience for different groups to maximize their contribution. ✅ Trust your people, regardless of their preferences. 👉 How is your organisation approaching the future of work? ♻️ Repost to help someone in your network 🔔 Follow me Alessia Di Giacomo for more, and reach out if you need help 🔗 Check the comments for a couple of great articles to explore further #TransformationalLeadership #FutureOfWork #IntentionalCulture #Trust #Flexibility #PersonalisedEmployeeExperience Project One

The Future of Work: Entering 2025 and Beyond What was once considered innovative or futuristic has become the norm, redefining how, where, and why we work. The future of work is no longer just about productivity—it’s about purpose, adaptability, and creating systems that work for everyone. Remote work, which emerged as a necessity during the pandemic, has now solidified its place as a global standard. From the bustling tech hubs of Austin and Lisbon to the innovative e-Residency program in Estonia, work is no longer tied to a single location. In parallel, Artificial intelligence continues to reshape the workplace, introducing levels of productivity and innovation previously unimaginable. AI-driven tools are not only optimizing logistics and automating repetitive tasks but are also personalizing career development through platforms that analyze skills and recommend tailored opportunities. The rise of the gig economy is another defining feature of this era. Over 1.5 billion workers worldwide now participate in flexible employment models, driven by the desire for autonomy and a rejection of traditional 9-to-5 structures. From the creative industries in Mexico to virtual assistants in the Philippines, gig platforms are expanding into specialized sectors such as healthcare, demonstrating that this trend is not just about convenience but also about unlocking new economic opportunities. The robotics revolution is another force shaping the future of work. Robots are no longer confined to factories; they are now customer service agents, caregivers, and even healthcare assistants. From Japan’s humanoid robots to Germany’s industrial automation and South Korea’s consumer robotics, advancements in this field are enhancing human capabilities while driving efficiencies across industries. Lastly, the concept of a four-day workweek is another exciting development gaining momentum. Experiments in countries like Iceland, Japan, and the Netherlands show that reducing hours can boost productivity, improve mental health, and foster a healthier work-life balance. With companies like Microsoft Japan reporting a 40% increase in productivity after implementing a shorter workweek, this model is becoming a viable option for the future of work. However, these advancements also bring challenges, particularly the widening skills gap. By 2030, as many as 85 million jobs could remain unfilled due to mismatched qualifications. As we navigate these seismic changes, one thing is clear: adaptability and lifelong learning are essential. Are we ready to seize the opportunities it offers? #Future #FutureOfWork #GovCampus #FutureSkills

We are living in an era of remarkable change, where innovation and adaptation have become essential rather than optional. It’s fascinating to think about how our challenges have paved the way for a bright future. Yet another debate on #workhours productivity! To me, it's a great reflection of how different #generations see the very nature of work. Our veterans built their heritage in an age where physical existence was considered an essential part of work contribution. They pioneered India's technological revolution through sheer tenacity and persistence. To an extent working marathon hours into the night in offices where one did not have digital connectivity as a norm but was considered a luxury. Their success stories are also closely interwoven with sacrifice. But today's workforce has grown up in a fundamentally different world. For #millennials and #GenZ, the digital revolution has changed how we work—and more importantly, it has reshaped how we think about work. To add to that, the COVID era exposed them to remote collaboration, global exposure, and instant connectivity that have fundamentally altered the understanding of productivity. The definition of 'hard work' has evolved. It's no longer about the hours spent at your desk, but about impact, efficiency, and innovation. Where our veterans equate time invested with value created, younger professionals are championing work-life integration, #mentalhealth, and #sustainableproductivity. Neither is wrong; they are products of their times and experiences. Maybe the real opportunity lies not in debating who is right but in bridging these worldviews to create a work culture that honors both the dedication of our pioneers and the evolved aspirations of our #digitalnatives. #WorkCulture #GenerationalShift #FutureOfWork #Leadership #WorkLifeBalance #Hardwork
