Are you a business leader of any sized company thinking about how you can make a big difference in people's lives? Well, I have the perfect opportunity for you! Read on...
There's a widespread, yet barely recognised, form of coercive control called post-separation emotional abuse. People with children can be affected. Often there's no physical violence involved; the abuse is way more subtle than that - such as being dragged needlessly through the family courts for years on end or never ending gas lighting. It has a financial, emotional, social cost etc, wreaking unimaginable damage to the mum and children's lives. Yet, it's not extreme enough to meet the threshold for intervention that you see with more physical types of abuse. With my own lived experience of emotional abuse, I really do get it.
Mums In Need, a charity that I'm a Trustee of, works directly with these mums, providing services and wraparound support. The wait list is only open intermittently, such is the demand. We do our utmost best, but need to do more to extend the service and start to address the root causes of this type of abuse.
Why does it matter? Well, it may well be that some of your employees are going through this right now and you may not know, nor HR, not even your employee themself. Yes, it's truly that far under the radar. But, you can help change this!
In the post below, you can find more about what your company can do. We're hugely partnership orientated, so if you'd like to get involved in another way, please reach out to me on here and we can have a chat.
Thank you. 💜
