Kelvin Sheppard asked Dan Campbell, the head coach of the Detroit Lions, if should cut off his dreads to look more professional as a coach. Campbell’s response: “What? Are you crazy? First of all, I love your hair. But seriously, Shep, if I’m hiring you, if anybody’s hiring you, they’re hiring you because of you. You got those jobs because of who you are, not because of somebody you’re trying to become.” Now, Sheppard is the Lions Defensive Coordinator. And he’s still got those awesome dreads. As a Former General Manager, I want to Build Around Certainty. When I watch the Antigua Falcons or observe their Scorecard I see little to no Certainty. Take a glance at their Top Six and only Brandon King has high level credentials as a Batter. Justin Greaves and Kofi James although talented are very much making their way. Hassan Khan and Imad Wasim are operating in the Middle Order after spending their careers lower down. It’s unclear if Jahmar Hamilton is even a T20 Player. It is impossible to win without a Batting Lineup that thin. So How Does it Happen? It happens because very few people in Cricket understand Talent Evaluation, Recruitment, and Team Building. Unfortunately, Owners prefer Loyalists over Professionals. This unfortunately is the Story of our Game. When I was the GM of the Saint Lucia Stars I knew before the season that we had screwed up our Draft and Recruitment because both processes were unaligned. We Built a Team that lacked a unitary vision. Instead, it was the Owner, His Random Friends, His Son in High School, the Captain, and Others all sharing significant input in the Process. When this happens you end up with an unrefined meal. There’s lots of interesting ingredients, but the dish taste awful. I knew right away. I would be surprised if the Folks at Antigua didn’t think they screwed this up months ago. It’s a problem either way, and one that Cricket refuses to solve. Why? Because losing with loyalty is better than winning with professionals. #Cricket

When you look at leaders this is exactly what you want to see, Thomas Frank is showing the passion, desire and drive to lift his team even higher than they already are after a gruelling, but determined win. He's shouting out and celebrating all the fantastic things his team have done, it's clear they're all on the same ship, pulling together regardless of their position.
