PORT ST. LUCIE — Named among the 50 best places to live in the U.S. by Money magazine for 2024, Port St. Lucie, Florida stands out for its expected job growth of 10% by 2028 and the abundance of parks and recreational areas. The city, Florida's sixth-largest, is expected to see job growth of 10% by 2028, fueled by a burgeoning 3.5-mile warehouse district along Interstate 95 hosting major companies like FedEx, Amazon, and an upcoming Costco distribution facility. This facility alone is anticipated to create over 500 jobs. Port St. Lucie's appeal is also bolstered by its 60 parks, recreation areas, and events, including the Saints Golf Course, Eggstravaganza Easter egg hunt, free River Night events, and the McCarty Ranch Reserve which offers a range of outdoor activities. Categorized by Money as a "new boomtown," the city was evaluated based on criteria such as livability, equity, sustainability, affordability, and community engagement. #portstlucie #stluciecounty #treasurecoast

🎉🎂 Oakleaf turns 19 🎈🥳 Written in the wonderful words of our founder @Richard Colgan ... Monday 4th July 2005 was a momentous day for me - it was the day I got the train into London for the very first day of Oakleaf Partnership: my own personal Independence Day. I remember it vividly - it was both super exciting and absolutely terrifying in the same breath! 19 years have passed since that day and when I reflect on what we have collectively achieved I'm both humbled and proud. I took a huge leap of faith (in my own ability!) to invent and launch Oakleaf, but the Oakleaf is a symbol of courage after all! With a big mortgage and school fees to pay, it simply had to work. Thankfully, despite the challenges we have faced over the years, from the GFC to Covid and beyond, we enter our 20th year as committed to our customers as ever. Our corporate values and purpose (created and owned by Team OP) totally underpin our culture which, in turn, helps drive the way we treat our colleagues and our customers. At Oakleaf, we don't differentiate between clients and candidates - we only have customers - and I believe this is a unique differentiator in an increasingly crowded market. Over the last couple of years, we have expanded into both the Middle East and Europe, as well as broadening the product offering with our Technology, Change & Transformation (TCT) business. Today also marks the second anniversary of Oakleaf Partnership US - with 10 colleagues already on the ground in the US and with 250 cities bigger than Manchester, the growth opportunity in the USA is enormous. The last 15 months, however, have been particularly challenging for us all, but change is most certainly on the horizon and market sentiment seems to be improving. Long may that continue - it's well overdue. Finally, I want to say a huge thank you to all who have helped us on this journey. There can be no greater privilege for us than delivering solutions and helping change lives for the better. @Richard Colgan - Founder & Group CEO To see our journey timeline, click below or visit https://lnkd.in/erxZX6qh #BusinessAnniversary #OakleafPartnership #CompanyMilestone #Resilience #HRRecruitment

"Every Bro down in Broville liked Cities a lot But the Farmers, who lived near Broville, did not!" Jeff sent me a great podcast yesterday and I wanted to reflect on it. I encourage you to listen to it: https://lnkd.in/eAD8aZYz The TLDL; is that an LLC established in Delaware bought up a LOT of farmland in a rural county in California. There was a lot of speculation about WHY this land was being purchased (was this land for farming, was it a non-US organization buying with the intent to spy on Americans (an Air Force base is adjacent to this gigantic plot). A journalist finds out that (in fact) this LLC is backed by billionaires, and the intention is to build a new city on the farmlands. California has an affordable housing problem (duh) but the lack of political will to fix the system is part of the rationale for building an entire new city. It was postulated that this group of billionaires would rather fight court battles with farmers out in the country than try to shift politics in existing Californian cities to demand more housing builds. Some of my general takeaways after reflecting on this podcast: - "Can" a group of billionaires with extensive resources build a city? Probably. Will it be a "good" city? I have no idea! For instance, would they prioritize central access to a private airport for elites to travel? Would they clad all of their housing structures with stainless steel like Elon did with the Cybertruck? :D - A city starts with people. People built the first cities and towns in our country out of necessity, as a trading post, or a rail town. People migrating in and out of cities contributes to the urban thread, puts demands on the city, and leaves its unique footprint through arts and culture. I have no idea what kind of culture you can build in a city that's manufactured from the ground up, but we may get a chance to find out. - I've said it before and I'll say it again - our places are our last vestiges of untouched, unfiltered life. The idea of creating the technocrat's dream of urban living is both exciting and terrifying at the same time. A move like this should be seen as a bellwether for all of us who like our places to take action NOW to make those places more pedestrian friendly, with complete streets and redesigned vehicular patterns. The billionaires aren't doing this out of the goods of their hearts; they are running out of ways to extract wealth from places in the traditional sense so they are turning the knob up to 11 and developing their "product" to sell to you as an improved lifestyle. They may be right about the premise of an improved lifestyle, but at what cost to us? #urbanplanning #plannedcities #capitalism #california #zoning #affordablehousing

CIRES' commitment transcends mere commercial leasing; it's a dynamic pledge to nurture inclusivity, champion local businesses, and contribute to the thriving well-being of the neighbourhoods we proudly serve. This dedication takes center stage as CIRES proudly owns and operates the Washington Community Market, a beloved grocery store that has been a cornerstone of the Downtown Eastside community for an impressive 25 years. Now, let's rewind to 2021—a pivotal year when the looming pandemic posed a genuine threat to permanently shutter the market's doors. Recognizing its pivotal role, CIRES stepped forward, seizing the opportunity to secure the market's future by acquiring it from its long-time operator, PHS Community Services Society. What unfolded next was not merely a rescue mission but rather a transformative journey. CIRES, with a vision to renew and uplift, revitalized this Downtown Eastside mainstay while meticulously preserving its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our community-centred approach came to life as CIRES gathered a team of professionals dedicated to designing and implementing enhancements. From optimizing square footage to elevating lighting, air circulation, and plumbing services, we breathed new life into the heart of the market. Now, we invite you to experience the result of this revitalization. Visit the Washington Community Market, shop locally, and become a part of the heartbeat of our community. #WashingtonMarketRevival #CIRESImpact #CommunityEconomicDevelopment #BoldMoves #DTESVancouver #Vancouver #Successstories

DENISON’S CHARM PRESERVES ITS HISTORY: We’ve been telling you for months that Denison’s population is on the rise and expected to double over the next few years as work nears completion on the Preston Harbor master-planned community and other major projects. But with all that change coming to the city, there’s one thing that’s not expected to be any different in the years to come and that’s Denison’s quaint but active downtown area. You’ve heard this if you’ve ever listened to one of Leah Slaughter’s property tours: “It’s my favorite downtown in North Texas” City leaders say they don’t plan to make any alterations to Main Street as more and more people move to Denison. This is just another great decision being made in a city that’s seeing unprecedented growth. Don’t miss your opportunity to start investing in this area TODAY. You can start by seeing some of the properties in Dension, Sherman, and other booming North Texas towns during our “Property Toursday” this Thursday at 12 p.m. or 8 p.m.! REGISTER FOR 2/15 12 P.M. What makes Concord, NC and Cary, NC such a special place to live? North Carolina boasts two standout cities in the Southeast, as recent rankings highlight. Cary secures the second position, while Concord claims the tenth spot on a list celebrating cities with exceptional entertainment, job prospects, and low crime rates. These results, unveiled on August 7th, stem from Livability's extensive study encompassing over 2,000 locations across the nation. Focusing on cities with populations ranging from 75,000 to 500,000, Livability analyzed data from diverse sources, including the U.S. government, to evaluate and score these places across eight crucial categories: environment, transportation, health, amenities, safety, education, economy, and housing and living costs. What sets Cary and Concord apart? While Johns Creek, Georgia, leads the pack in the Southeast, Cary follows closely, carving its niche with an impressive array of dining options and beverage establishments. Livability's report applauds Cary for its vibrant arts scene, diverse eateries, notable breweries, and vibrant sporting events. With approximately 180,000 residents, this town adjacent to Raleigh not only shines in its cultural offerings but also stands out for its safety measures, quality public schools, and its advantageous proximity to businesses located in Research Triangle Park. Livability also acknowledges Cary's strategic positioning, nestled between the picturesque Western Carolina mountains and the famed East Coast beaches of the Outer Banks. Concord, situated roughly 25 miles northeast of bustling uptown Charlotte, also secures a prominent position on the list. Livability characterizes Concord as an amalgamation of a charming Southern town and an emerging urban center, solidifying its status as one of the finest places to reside in the Southeast. Boasting nearly 110,000 residents, Concord earns accolades for its abundant amenities, including expansive park spaces and the renowned Charlotte Motor Speedway racing center. Charlotte secured a spot in the Milken Institute's 2024 Annual Ranking of Best-Performing Cities. Considerations included "sustainable growth...community resilience and income inequality, in addition to labor market performance, high-tech sector's impact, and access to economic opportunities." With many facets of the commercial market adapting to post-pandemic changes, including a shift to remote work and reduced need for traditional office space, the power and draw of an established and still-growing city is stronger than ever. Charlotte's resilience lends a sense of security to commercial investments, but more importantly, the city is an incredible place to live. As a destination city, people relocate to Charlotte for career and personal opportunities more and more every year, ensuring that the Queen City stands strong. If you're ready to claim commercial space in the Queen City, start with WCRE. #topperformingcities #charlotterealestate #charlottenc #commercialdevelopment https://lnkd.in/eA5Db7ie
