Have you ever taken a risk as an organization? Created a strategy, developed a plan, got buy-in and support, and then hoped it worked? That's what we are doing. We are pivoting away from an annual Gala and instead hosting an event this fall we are calling ReGreen Minnesota. We are doing this for a reason: to welcome anyone who wants to take conservation action and make a tangible impact on Minnesota's outdoors. * Instead of tickets priced at over $100 a piece, we are selling them for $40 a person. * Instead of a fancy, seated affair, we are throwing a casual bash where you don't need to buy a new cocktail dress (unless you want to!). * Instead of exclusive, we want to be inclusive. * We'll continue to be informative! From clean water to pollinators, continuous living cover to tree canopies, volunteer events to goats: we'll share what Great River Greening is doing to make an immediate and positive impact on Minnesota's land, for the benefit of people, plants, wildlife, soil and water. This year's theme, "Water for All," underscores the significance of ensuring equitable access to clean water for all communities. The Suffolk Local Nature Recovery Strategy wants to hear from you! If you live and work in Suffolk, follow the link to share your views, and encourage your friends, colleagues and families, including children and young people, to do the same. By way of background, the strategy aims to: * Boost existing nature (habitats and species) * Create new areas for nature * Improve people's access to, and connection with, nature * Use land sustainably, integrating nature into land uses such as agriculture and development * Collaborate with communities and partners to identify local nature recovery priorities * Assist with Suffolk's climate change mitigation and adaptation to seek win-wins for nature and the climate * Increase opportunities for nature education

Ditto! This plan governs the focus of multiple grant programs across several funders, and strongly influences the granting of others. The update helps us all to plan how we will collaborate across diferent organizational strengths as well to achieve these goals. Please comment!

The $196.4 million Nurturing Nature: Cultivating Culture plan will see regional communities engaged in four years of action that will halt the decline of threatened species, support First Nations stewardship, and improve land condition for agriculture, biodiversity and the economy. How much will the repairs to fix the water lines cost? How many months/years do we think we’ll get out of the repaired line? Doesn’t it make sense to build in redundancy to prevent a future crisis? What would that cost? Before the water repairs are completed, we are going to get confirmation that the costs to build the Green Line from Shepard to Eau Claire (nowhere to nowhere) will exceed the budget by billions. What is the priority- provide reliable water to Calgarians, or build an ideologically driven train through tunnels under downtown Calgary? We could save billions by abandoning Green Line tunnels, building a surface level train from dowtown to Seton, and ensuring that Calgarians have reliable water service for decades ahead. Will common sense ever prevail?

The public consultation for the Local Nature Recovery Toolkit 🌱 for the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority and North Somerset is now live! 📣 The Toolkit will act as the Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
