They were just a few hours from the T-Mobile Home Run Derby and one of the main attractions besides balls flying out of the park is Club Magenta located at Texas Live, which is where we find meteorologist Jim Cantore. Jim, tell us about the fun and are you going to be hitting any balls out of the park to yourself? Ohh, I wish, I'd love to step up to the plate and it went out. I don't if I could reach the fence and I'm talking about the first fence where they keep everybody behind Ben Verlander is with me again. And Ben was out in the big heat in Las Vegas when they set that all time record high of 120. What did, what did that feel like last weekend, 120��? It legitimately felt like opening up an oven door and just getting hit with that heat, even the breeze it was, it was miserable. I mean, did you get like dizzy just standing outside? Yes, immediately sweating. The pools don't do it any justice. You're like bathing. The hot tub it was it's it was rough 120 we're glad you're here in the in the cooler air so you know speaking the fact that we're in club Jenna what's your favorite perk here yeah so right now free drinks are flowing love that perk obviously some custom gear getting handed out over there there there really are doing an awesome job in here they're doing it up well guys I'm going to have my buddy here put a little piece of bling on me because. You know, when you're out here, sometimes the bling helps. We do. We saw Frank Thomas a little while ago and and he's always addressed to the Hill. Look at this thing. So Speaking of winning the T-Mobile Home Run Derby tonight, who were you picking? You know, I think I'm going to take the Home Run Derby legend Pete Alonzo. I think over adoles Garcia. I think he's gonna win it. You know, what's really funny is I'm actually picking Bobby Witt Junior and this is this is no joke because when I picked them, I had no idea that he's one of the team over here, one of the T-Mobile players like Kansas City Royals. So very, very cool. Did he sign that already? Frank Thomas. I'll sign it. Yeah, absolutely. And it wouldn't be right then if I didn't put the little hurricane symbol in there. OK. So that way you'll know, maybe, maybe know who that is. Let's check out the forecast again, not quite what Ben dealt with in Las Vegas at 120��, but it feels about 105 outside right now. So we're going to get to about 101. And that's what we're looking at in terms of temperatures, I mean. Coming here must be like ohh my gosh I'm freezing cold front came through attacks this after last weekend and it's gonna be 75�� in the in the stadium roof closed. So that's what's beautiful and we're showing people grabs earlier about how most majorly baseball players actually hit the most home runs if you take you know all fly balls and consideration between 80 and 90�� is the best best temperature. So the roof being open may actually may actually would have been advantageous. Wow yeah, I did know the numbers when the. The balls jumping in the in the humidity and you know the, you know the reasoning why better than I do. But yeah, the hotter it is, the ball flies. When I when I was playing, I used to love playing in the heat cause I could actually hit it over the fence every once in a while. You know, right. Yeah. That's your brother doing.
