How is our tree canopy changing? From 2010 to 2017, we can observe significant loss of coverage. In Dane County, the Village of Brooklyn, Village of Belleville, Town of Primrose, City of Stoughton, and City of Monona have experienced canopy decreases of 30% or higher. Meanwhile, the City of Madison, Town of Primrose, Town of Perry, and Town of Vermont have lost the greatest total acres of canopy within the county.
