Donate to save our rhinos this Heritage month! Wildlife trafficking remains a pervasive threat to rhinos, and increasingly to other species such as elephants and lions which bring tourists and jobs to our important protected areas. These crimes also affect people living around our parks by exposing them to criminals connected to international trafficking syndicates. This World Rhino Day, donate to ensure our rhinos and wildlife continue to live on for generations to come. What is WWF doing? · WWF has been involved in species conservation and addressing the threats to wildlife since the 1960s. · Our influence in wildlife conservation policies assists in balancing environmental goals against social, political and economic needs. · WWF works to curb poaching by implementing innovative technology and building the capacity of government and community rangers on the ground. We also tackle illegal trade of—and demand for—rhino horn through advocacy and strengthening of local and international law enforcement to bring trafficking perpetrators to justice. · Through our Black Rhino Range Expansion Programme (BRREP) we establish new rhino populations and move rhinos from risk areas to safe havens. Donate to WWF and your donation will support the future of rhinos and wildlife in our country. https://lnkd.in/dKi5HPiB

Australian native animals are critical to our ecosystems. They rely on us to protect them and respect the importance of their life on earth. We share these principles with @goldbullionaustralia, so we’ve teamed up to share some patient stories from Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital and spread the word about the value of wildlife and how we must invest in protecting it. It’s hard to imagine a more iconic animal than the kangaroo 🦘When it comes to protecting wildlife like kangaroos, many feel they don’t have the power to make a difference. Everyone can help to make a difference for our wildlife, even if it’s just sharing the message. 🔵 Donate to wildlife hospitals like ours which provide life-saving care. 🔵 Keep your dogs on leash at all times in wildlife areas. Roos and Macrapods are particularly susceptible to stress myopathy which can occur when frightened or chased by dogs. 🔵 Slow down on our roads at dawn and dusk. 🔵 Check the pouch. #ByronBayWildlifeHospital #WildlifeVeterinaryCare #AustralianCharity #NativeWildlifeHeroes #ProtectAussieWildlife #HealWithHeart #ByronBayWildlifeRescue #WildlifeWellness #AustralianWildlifeHeroes #NurturingNativeSpecies

Australian Wildlife Conservancy: we know you are doing everything you can to stem this alarming increase in Australia's Threatened Species List. However, AWC needs everyone who can, to help in avoiding vulnerable species extinction. If you are in a position to give a contribution toward construction, please be a person of conviction & distinction, & reverse the acceleration of native wildlife destruction:
We are witnessing an alarming decline in Australia’s natural world, with a record 130 species recently added to Australia’s Threatened Species List. 🚨 We need your support to accelerate AWC’s tried and tested action plan to safeguard our native wildlife and habitats. You can help our wildlife flourish for years to come by supporting landmark wildlife reintroductions, feral predator control, habitat restoration and appropriate fire management. Consider making a gift this tax season, and together we can stand between Australia’s threatened wildlife and extinction 👉 bit.ly/AWC-Donation 🎥 B Leue/AWC #AWC #AustralianWildlifeConservancy #EOFY #Donation #SaveAustraliasWildlife

#WorldRhinoDay: A Spotlight on the Last Javan & Sumatran Rhinos 🦏 Yesterday, we recognised the critical status of some of the most endangered species on Earth – the Javan and Sumatran rhinos. With fewer than 60 Javan rhinos and less than 50 Sumatran rhinos remaining in the wild, their populations are on the brink of extinction. At the Wildlife Forensic Fund, our mission is to equip rangers and conservationists with the forensic tools they need to combat poaching, wildlife trafficking, and habitat loss – the biggest threats to these species. How You Can Help: - Donate to support our partners Scent Imprint Conservation Dogs, who play a vital role in detecting wildlife crime and protecting rhinos in their natural habitats. - Spread awareness of these critically endangered species. Together, we can ensure that the last remaining Javan and Sumatran rhinos survive and thrive. Just some of the 72 This image shows wildlife rescuer and carer Emma from Bungalook Creek Wildlife Shelter weighing just some of her 72 rescued Grey-headed Flying-fox (Pteropus poliocephalus) pups in care. At one stage Emma had 109 to look after! Wrapped in ‘mumma rolls’ to keep warm and secure before being weighed, the majority of these pups were found alone in colonies. Why? Maybe their mums didn't make it home due to being caught in barbed wire, illegal fruit-tree netting or were electrocuted. There was also a starvation event this year. By helping disperse pollen and seeds up the east coast of Australia, Grey-headed Flying-foxes are keystone species (which is an animal that helps define an entire ecosystem, and without them, ecosystems would be dramatically different or even cease to exist altogether) and so are vital for the health and regeneration of many of our forests. Listed as vulnerable to extinction, significant threats include continued habitat destruction and climate change (e.g. heat stress, cold snaps) related events. #greyheadedflyingfox #fruitbat #bat #mum #pup #baby #vulnerable #keystonespecies #conservationphotography #wildlifephotography
