Author of No More Status Quo (available now!), Founder & CEO at Pause for Change, National Speaker & Host of the talk show, Possibility Project.org
I am honored and very excited to be the morning #keynote speaker at what will be a fantastic event and opportunity for connection and learning. The title of my presentation is "The Missing Magic of #Impact: #Radical #Empathy & #Experimentation." I'll be diving into these questions and I wonder if you can relate? ❓Do you ever wonder what would be possible if you had the freedom to not know the answers? ❓To be wrong? ❓To ask questions? ❓To test ideas before you move to implementation? I will share how you CAN have that freedom right away by applying new skills to any area of #uncertainty. You can #pause and take new action to know if a problem really is a problem, what people need most, and, through rapid testing, which solution will actually work (or not), and why. I hope you can join to learn how you have the power to have increased #clarity, #confidence, and the #learning you need to create greater social change. I can't wait! #pauseforchange #nomorestatusquo #possibilityproject #socialimpact #socialchange #tucson #arizona #nonprofit #philanthropy

Driving sustainability in Singapore via partnerships and funding. Exploring nexus between AI and sustainability in my free time.
Sharing two new initiatives that help to foster and strengthen partnerships from the ground-up. 1. Singapore Government Partnerships Office (SGPO) SGPO was launched on 19 Jan to strengthen the government’s partnerships and engagements with citizens. It will serve as a first-stop to facilitate interactions between individuals/interest groups and the relevant government agencies, as well as connect them with resources to help turn ideas into action, especially those that cut across topics and address complex issues. https://www.sgpo.gov.sg/ 2. BAGUS (Building All Groundups for Success) Together BAGUS Together, launched on 18 Jan, is a tripartite collaboration between the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC), Temasek Foundation and Tote Board. The initiative aims to rally the ecosystem to work collaboratively to support and help potential changemakers and groundups start and sustain their initiatives through fostering collaboration, ease of access to resources, networks and other forms of support. https://lnkd.in/gfRCJnsG

Today (July 1) is National Nonprofit Leader Day. Fulcrum Nonprofit Leadership (Fulcrum) would like to take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate Charter Member and extraordinary leader, Kenya Beckmann. Thank you, Kenya, for your commitment to excellence, servant leadership, and all things good. At Fulcrum, we believe nonprofit leaders like Kenya deserve to be recognized and celebrated. Why July 1st? While any day is a good day to show appreciation for nonprofit leaders, July 1 has special significance. First, many nonprofits will have just completed a very long and challenging fiscal year the day before (June 30). This deserves special recognition, especially given the sacrifices so many leaders likely made throughout the year and down the home stretch. Second, many nonprofits start a new fiscal year on July 1, launching into another year of meeting lofty goals and high expectations while accelerating mission delivery and community impact. If there is a special nonprofit leader in your life, please recognize them today with the hashtags: #nationalnonprofitleaderday #fulcrumleader #servantleader

MehtaCognition pays it forward, and back... 📣 📣 📣 Announcing The Impact Fund for Independent School Leaders 🎇 🎉 🎆 Beginning this spring, MehtaCognition will financially sponsor leaders and educators in independent schools to avail themselves of any professional development they require to grow their leadership and elevate their influence and impact in their schools. This is not a trick... there's no catch! Towards the end of 2023, Nishant Mehta took a percentage of our net profits for the year and created a donor-advised fund whose sole purpose will be to identify and support individuals and teams in our schools who have dreams and aspirations for growth and impact, but lack the resources in their professional development budget to support them. There are plenty of such examples of philanthropies and foundations set up by corporations, CEOs, and company leaders. So why can’t we do the same for our schools and education? Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, MehtaCognition will share a percentage of its profits, annually, with the larger independent school industry to support and sustain the current and next generation of leaders who have the vision and talent but lack the dollars and opportunities. Read the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/dmbXU_bm Questions, then 📩 impactfund@mehtacognition.com.

Calling all non-profit governance nerds.. (I know you're out there... right??): The Netherlands offers a fairly unique (and quite useful) two-tier governance structure for non-profits consisting of a Board AND a Supervisory Board. At Systemic Justice, we've just switched to this model. Now why might one want want to do that? Most non-profits in Europe have a Management Board / Board of Directors as their formal governance entity. Save for small organisations where the Board runs the day-to-day of the organisation, most Boards empower an Executive Director with a power of attorney or appoint a management team to run things. So even though they still hold operational powers, Boards often increasingly move to a position of oversight rather than doing anything hands on. The Dutch system is special in that it allows to formalise this oversight function. Read more about this (and our *fabulous* new Supervisory Board members) in the blog post linked to below 👇 #governance #nonprofits #supervisoryboards #oversight #bestpractice #socialjustice #racialjustice
💛 Exciting News from Systemic Justice! We are thrilled to announce the formation of our Supervisory Board, marking a significant milestone in our evolution from a startup to a more mature organisation. Please join us in welcoming Gracie Bradley, Stephanie Brobbey, and Cristina Guerrero Paez as the inaugural members of Systemic Justice’s Supervisory Board. Their expertise in governance, organisational development, and finance will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our mission and ensure robust oversight. Below – Gracie, Stephanie, and Cristina share their visions for Systemic Justice. 👉🏽 Learn more about this exciting development and why it matters for our work and community partnerships in our latest blog post: https://lnkd.in/eUxDEbQm #Governance #NonProfit #Leadership #OrganisationalDevelopment #racialjustice #socialjustice #climatejustice #economicjustice #antiracism
