BRAND NEW! Dive into the world of progressive power-building with NLA's Impact Report! 🌟 501(c)(3) nonprofits do critical work, but they are legally prohibited from using some of the most effective strategies for building political power. That’s why New Left Accelerator provides training and technical assistance to social justice groups that want to establish an affiliated 501(c)(4), PAC, corporation, or other legal entity. In 2022 and 2023, NLA ran our largest program yet. As we grew to support power-building organizations across the country fighting for immigrant rights, reproductive and gender justice, and criminal justice reform, we also strengthened the ecosystem of the progressive movement and shared what we learned along the way. This Impact Report is an accounting of our accomplishments. Get an inside look at multi-entity power-building strategies that are reshaping the progressive landscape: NLAimpact.org

🌍💪 Access to land is fundamental to human rights—it’s the foundation for dignity, security, and opportunity. Yet, across the world, young people, particularly women and girls, face significant barriers to land ownership and control. From constrained mobility to gender-based violence, limited education to discriminatory laws, these challenges undermine women's and girl's social and economic well-being. 📢 We call on global leaders to ensure land justice for youth, especially women and girls, by strengthening legal frameworks, preventing unlawful evictions, and removing the systemic barriers that hold them back. 🤝 Together, we can create a future where land rights are a reality for everyone! #S4HL #Youth4Land #Youth4HerLand #OurLegacyOurFuture #WomensLandRights #LandRights

𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 Everyone has a right to adequate food, and a key part of achieving this is ensuring that women have the right to inherit and own land. Women’s land rights are crucial for fostering food security and economic independence. Men should actively support these rights, acknowledging that empowering women benefits entire communities. Moreover, administrations must enforce and protect women's land rights to create a fair and just society. At Rural Outreach Africa, we are dedicated to advocating for and engaging in efforts to ensure that women's land rights are recognized and upheld. Together, we can create a future where everyone has the resources they need to thrive.

Today we remember the incredible bravery and heroic actions of the young people of 1976. Their defiance against an oppressive school system and state was nothing short of inspiring. The images from that time vividly depict the severe brutality faced by those who stood up for their rights. As we celebrate Youth Day, let's honour and remember those who fought for the freedom we cherish today. Their legacy is a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of our youth. Let's continue to celebrate and uplift the young people of our nation, as they are the future. It is our responsibility to educate, guide, and nurture young minds, who will become the leaders of tomorrow. Together, let’s build a future that honours their sacrifice and continues their fight for equality and justice. #YouthDay #June16 #1976Uprising #BraveryAndHeroism #YouthPower #FreedomFighters #LegacyOfCourage #RememberThePast #CelebrateYouth #UpliftTheYoung #FutureLeaders #EqualityAndJustice #HonourTheirSacrifice #StrengthAndResilience #InspiringYouth #EducateAndNurture #BuildingTheFuture

📣 It has been a week since we launched our new strategy, #PavingRoutesToJustice! 🛡 Starting today, we'll be sharing our strategic aims with you every week, highlighting the incredible work of our staff. ⚖ We kick off with our first aim Defend, as described by our Senior Associate Solicitor Lyndsay Monaghan from our Scottish Women's Rights Centre: "We aim to test and develop new ways of responding to unmet or emerging legal needs across #Scotland. This allows us to continue developing collaborations with an increasing range of community and grassroots partners, using the law to defend the rights of survivors of gender-based violence. "This approach enables us to work with marginalized groups facing particularly high barriers to justice." 🤔 Curious?
