Racism is an international institution, deliberately designed by whites to colonise the world. Decolonisation Decolonisation is not merely about changing symbols or revising historical narratives; it is about dismantling the deeply ingrained structures that continue to perpetuate inequality and self-hate within Black societies. As people with darker shaded-skin tones, we must confront the legacy of individualism imposed upon us during the colonial era. This mentality, born from the horrors of slavery, has fragmented our identities and prioritised personal survival over collective progress. The time has come to build unifying identities that transcend the artificial divisions created by colonial powers. This transformative process involves: 1. Challenging and removing the symbols and systems that sustain a Eurocentric worldview. 2. Replacing the emphasis on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and material wealth, which often comes at the expense of human dignity and communal well-being. Let us move forward with purpose, knowing that the true measure of progress lies not in how well we emulate the systems of our former colonisers, but in how boldly we chart our own path. Thank you for sharing the importance of: 1. Investment in inclusive and climate-resilient water infrastructure - Prioritize water infrastructure that serves the needs of all, especially the poor and vulnerable, and is designed to withstand climate change. 2. Fostering water stewardship and collective action - Encourage water users, governments, and other stakeholders to work together to address water challenges, share knowledge, and leverage financing and technology to achieve water security and sustainable development. In India also, we have the India Water Week with the central theme of "Partnership and cooperation for inclusive water development and management" from 17-20 Sep, 2024.

Water is a vital resource that supports agriculture, industry, energy production, and domestic use. Managing it wisely can lead to shared prosperity by ensuring that all communities have access to clean water, reducing poverty, and promoting economic development.
An important reminder that water is a crucial source of prosperity, and the access gap between high and low-income countries. Thank you for sharing The World Bank.
Increasingly scarce resource that is realizing increasing use! Water is typified by distribution of lots of availability in one place and scarcity in another. This WB program doesn’t address water distribution sufficiently

2moUSA ~ 30% of all fresh water extraction is for thermo-mechanical electricity generation. Globally 370 Billion m3 of 'filtered' water is used to generate 27,000 TW/h. Each MW/h consumes around 1.5m3 (lost to atmosphere as steam/vapour), so each TW/h lost in transmission (mainly through old OHTL grid conductors in developing countries) is wasting ~ 500 Olympic swimming pools of filtered water not to mention 600,000 eCO2/t (per TW/h) of compensatory GHG emissions. Further for 'cooling' each TW/h ~ 4,000 Olympic Swimming pools of filtered water, which is returned back to the original water body (often a thermal discharge - considered a pollutant in many cases - ESS 3 WB/IFC). If leaky water pipes were responsible for such water resource inefficiency, surely somebody would look at fix them? Reducing electricity technical losses on developing country power grids will also as an add-on assist the national water resource efficiency. Energy Water Nexus. nb. According to NASA water vapour amplifies the effect of CO2 on global warming. So I guess a smaller issue but clearly not helping....
