Absolutely! Open book testing indeed calls for innovative testing approaches and novel teaching methods. It challenges traditional notions of memorization and instead emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving and application of knowledge. This shift requires educators to adopt teaching strategies that foster understanding and comprehension rather than rote learning. #innovatingtogether #openbooktesting #innovativelearning #education #educationexcellence

Agreed, no. Agreed, don't 'only' teach. Yes, facilitate. But, yes, if there is a gap to fill, do write a book perhaps in a new format. (e.g., blog, https://lnkd.in/gQwrJenm) But, yes, because he is a teacher and hence he is meant to teach, albeit, using newer kinds of teaching methods (e.g., by telling what to watch/read/do) so don't only teach but also simultaneously learn emerging ways of communicating (teaching ?) also. (Does this all not fall into the category of teaching?) Perhaps, I am late to know about this wonderful course 'Minor in AI'. Perhaps, in the next cohort. Till, then, I shall try to grind off the rust in my brain with CCE IISc AI and Machine Learning Aug-Dec 2024.
1. Should every teacher aim to write a great textbook? Answer: Nope! There are already tons of great textbooks out there. 2. Should a teacher only teach? Answer: Absolutely not! There are plenty of excellent lecture videos available online. 3. What else should a teacher do? Answer: Facilitate self paced learning. We should reduce the time spent on teaching the same material if it's available on the internet already.
