Tartan Today. Tartans continue to be designed and registered with the relevant Scottish authorities, both by large corporations and by private individuals.
Tartan is traditionally associated with Scottish and Irish customs and origins. Each tartan pattern today represents a particular Scottish clan or region. Clan tartans serve as symbols of heritage and identity that tie people to their ancestral past. Some key clan tartans include: MacDonald - One of the oldest known tartans, belonging to the MacDonald clan. Their red and black sett dates back to at least the late 16th century. MacLeod - An intricate green, black, and red tartan representing the MacLeod clan of Lewis. Fraser - A prominent Highland clan with an iconic tartan consisting of red, darker red, yellow, and black. Stewart - Featuring crimson and green, this tartan identifies with Clan Stewart of Appin and their traditional homeland in the Scottish Highlands. Campbell - One of the most widely recognized patterns, the distinctive green, black, and white Campbell tartan reflects their influential role as hereditar - 4jsmif0k7t - https://lnkd.in/ggFBa5G5

Things I discovered recently .. you can hang a GLASS BOWL on the WALL! Whorls and loops of cheerful yellow glass, once a towering nest hand-pulled from the open bottom of a 1600° kiln, have collapsed into an ocean of the most delicious emerald. Curved stripes of rainbow iridescence swoop across the surface right under the yellow swirls, catching your eye differently from each angle as you walk by. Dots of yellow dance proud of the surface. https://lnkd.in/enjgHuYq

There is much we can learn philosophically, theologically, ecologically, and poetically from the human body. The body is made up of multiple systems, but no system can be compartmentalized in complete isolation. Physically, we are a system of systems. Then, there is the integration of the physical and the emotional which is less tangible, but observable. Moving outward while moving inward, the spiritual dimension is least measurable or controllable, but no less real. From there, we move into our immediate environment and beyond the immediate where everything is connected by implication and integration. Nothing operates in a vacuum and nothing and no one is an island. It is great territory for meditation and a vast battleground for mediation. https://lnkd.in/g7cdmRHi

From 1966 to 1980, a revolving dining room at the top of London's Post Office Tower (now the BT Tower) served 800 lunches and 1300 dinners weekly. But the idea was far from new. The Emperor Nero also had a revolving dining room - probably water-powered. This, and other thrilling examples of Roman debauchery, are explained in this fascinating article. https://lnkd.in/eEQmfCby
