Imagine you're the head of an academic institution, conducting interviews to hire a faculty member for a teaching position. You have two candidates: Mr. A and Mr. B. Both boast identical qualifications, years of experience, and competencies. The key difference lies in their work history. Mr. A has only worked with two institutions in the last 15 years, sticking with one for the past decade. Meanwhile, Mr. B has a resume dotted with over 10 institutions, none of which he stayed with for more than 3 years. Now, the question arises: as the interviewer and head of the institute, which candidate would you choose – Mr. A or Mr. B?

Questions to School Board candidates… As a teacher who has been part of several school board screening groups, finding good questions to ask candidates can be a challenge. You want to be specific, but not too specific. You want to have open-ended questions that actually get to issues that are important to educators and will reveal how much candidates know about the real challenges we face. After consulting some colleagues, I would like to share the following questions and encourage you to get these questions to the candidates in your area.
