We love #officedesign and have been fortunate to collaborate with incredible design partners across North America. Naturally, we love to showcase beautiful workspaces, like this #LEED Gold Standard project for Atlassian in #Austin, created with #Mithun Gensler and others. This project took our breath away, hitting the mark for wellness, diversity and inclusion, culture, design innovation, and #sustainability. However, it's missing one element: a hybrid furniture model. If we were to enhance this project with a goal to reduce the carbon footprint of its interiors, here's how we would approach it: ✔ Pre-owned lunchroom and collaborative tables: These are typically standard and readily available like-new in the secondhand marketplace ✔ Certified pre-owned lounge pieces: Integrate these with new items, either as-is, or reupholstered to match the color scheme ✔ Pre-owned conference and large meeting room tables: Often destined for landfill, re-use them for new projects and resurface them if needed ✔ Repurposed task/conference seating: They are like-new and come with a warranty when sourced from partners like Envirotech ✔ Remanufactured stations: Using materials that already exist vs. extracting new, reduces environmental impacts without sacrificing style or function. A #hybrid office space can be as stunning as what you see below, with a little creativity, some foresight, and a desire to create impactful change (not to mention a huge cost-savings!)
