👥 Great businesses are powered by great talent! It is with immense pride that we recognize Michelle, our Accounts Payable Lead. Her spirit and collaborative nature help make it possible for our incredibly diverse team to excel. "I'm located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and I have been with AJC for 7 years. This quarter has been the most challenging since I began working at AJC, primarily due to the implementation of the new system in the accounting department. I collaborated closely with the team to define our needs and ensure the system aligned with those requirements effectively. Receiving training on the new system and transferring that knowledge to the AP team was both exciting and demanding. It required me to quickly absorb a significant amount of information, but I was eager to learn and apply it to enhance our processes. This experience reinforced the critical importance of teamwork and communication. When I heard the kind words my peers shared about me, I felt immense gratitude. It’s incredibly validating to know that my efforts are recognized and appreciated by those around me. Overall, it has been a deeply rewarding experience. My favorite memory at AJC was when we went to an escape room for a team-building experience. I enjoyed it so much! It was a fantastic way to step away from our usual routine and bond in a fun, collaborative environment. It left me with lasting memories and reminded me that the most important thing is to have fun along the way! ...." - Michelle 💬 We are one team with one vision, and together we are the AJC Family. What were my 3 key take-aways from authoring our annual professional trustee report (Sole Mates) which was launched earlier this week? 1)📈 There has been a marked growth in sole trusteeship: - the number of sole trustee appointments have doubled over the last 3 years with just under half of all professional trustee appointments being sole trusteeships (see snip below from our survey). 2) 💪Professional Trustee firms are scaling up: - with 190 new hires across the 15 firms we surveyed over 2023/24 alone: suggesting firms are hiring to support continued growth. 3) 🖥️Firms are evolving their capabilities: - including offering services beyond the traditional governance and scheme secretarial (eg procurement, communications and FM oversight) as well as launching new streamlined approaches to sole trusteeship. Thanks to all 15 firms who supported the survey - their views and insights on the evolution of the professional trustee market were invaluable in making the survey what is is. Do have a read and drop me a line if you'd like to discuss! https://lnkd.in/ekjfQ3Km Nathalie Sims David Fairs LCP

Why I Dislike Lateness As the managing director of KTP, I have always valued punctuality. It is not just about being on time—it’s about respect, efficiency, and the domino effect of productivity. Let me share a story that explains why being late is something I can not stand. A few years ago, we had a critical client meeting scheduled at xx AM. This meeting was the culmination of weeks of hard work and preparation. Everyone knew the stakes; everyone was ready—except for one of partner, who arrived late. Those late minutes were filled with unnecessary anxiety, lost focus, and a visible dent in our client’s confidence in us. While the meeting eventually proceeded smoothly, the damage was done. The client’s first impression was that we were disorganized and unprofessional. Being late is not just about the individual. It affects the entire team. It undermines trust, breeds resentment, and disrupts the flow of work. When one person is late, everyone suffers. Punctuality, on the other hand, demonstrates reliability and respect for others’ time. It sets the tone for a professional environment and shows our clients that we are dependable and dedicated. At KTP, we value our clients and colleagues’ time as much as our own. By being punctual, we demonstrate our commitment to excellence and respect for each other. Let’s all strive to be on time—it’s a small effort with a massive impact. Your punctuality is not just a personal matter; it is a professional standard that we all must uphold. #auditor #taxagent #accountingfirm #charteredaccountant #myktp #ktp #johorbahru

Chartered Accountants (CAs) are essential in maintaining financial integrity, but many trainees face exploitation. The power dynamic between trainees and employers leads to long hours, low pay, and poor treatment. Inconsistent regulations allow this exploitation to continue, creating a cycle of injustice. Trainees often stay silent due to fear of retaliation and stigma. To address this issue, stricter regulations and enforcement are needed to ensure fair treatment. Awareness of trainees' rights should be raised, and support networks established. Fostering a culture of accountability and transparency in accounting firms is crucial to prevent exploitation. By taking these steps, we can create a profession where all trainees are respected and treated fairly. Fiaz Ahmad Khan

Good morning great minds and happy new week. If you are an accountant like me, I greet you specially. I will like to remind all in accounting profession this morning that we are in a privileged position and we should use our privilege in such a way that our life will be robbed with respect at the end of our service among men. Accountability is not a mortal concept, and the role we play in making people accountable is training role for what they will do at the end of their life. It is good to also have it in mind that the audit of your account does not end here, if the auditor here give you an unqualified report, maybe due to their limitations, does your account receive an unqualified report of your own audit of yourself? and will it receive the unqualified report of the auditor of life? Let's be a just steward, for our master is just in all his ways and he is not a respecter of person. Luk.16:1-15 Good morning and happy new week. Let's all have a profitable day ahead.

My mum handed me this picture of me today. This was me on my first day of work at AHBS Accountants Never did I think that nearly 20 years later, I’d be still there and running the whole practice. When a firm treats an employee right, they will want to stay with you and work hard. Don’t have a picture of your first day at work? Post it in the comments below Ruth Tatenda M.
