#MemberMonday: Seneca Resources Company, LLC and its industry partners and colleagues proudly stand together to support flood victims in Tioga and Lycoming Counties. The area, which is home to much of the company's operations in eastern Pennsylvania, was recently devastated by Tropical Storm Debby. In addition to pledging resources and financial support, Seneca's employees joined other industry volunteers to aid families, individuals, and businesses affected by the storm.

I've heard a lot about the people who live in the mountains in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. Those states, plus West Virginia, Kentucky, Western Pennsylvania, and Ohio make up a majority of what is considered Appalachia. This young lady, reeling from the floods in NC, is a perfect example of the Appalachian heart and strength. This is who we are: 1. We are fiercely independent, and do not shed ties to our families and communities with ease. That's why so many of us either stay "home" or return after living elsewhere. 2. For centuries, we have served our communities, state, and nation. In his book Born Fighting, former US Senator James Webb, pointed out that forty-percent of the Continental Army was Scots-Irish. That has remained remarkably consistent for over two-hundred years (until just a couple years ago). We are born fighters and do not suffer threats to our families. The most dangerous thing an outsider can do is threaten an Appalachian family. 3. When confronted with adversity or challenges, most of us look to ourselves first, and our communities second. Expecting help beyond that is often considered a waste of time. UPDATE (8:21 PM) - It is being reported that flood victims in Appalachia will receive a $750 check from FEMA. That’s all. See the last sentence in item three above. I rest my case. 4. When some communities suffer, they tear each other apart. When people from Appalachia suffer, we reach out and help each other. It’s just simply part of who we are. That's it. I challenge anyone to find a stronger people. By the way, it's pronounced "App-uh-latch-uh", not "App-uh-laysh-uh". We, Dominique J. Spillmann, CEO, and Peter Ahluwalia, CIO, find ourselves in Florida on a business trip, just after Hurricane Milton. The skies are clean and clear, shining brightly—a familiar sight that often follows such storms. What strikes us the most is the resilience of the people here. Communities are coming together, helping one another rebuild and recover. It’s a powerful reminder of how, much like investing in solid businesses, we can weather the storms when we know what to expect and support each other. After every challenge, there’s a promise of sunshine on the horizon. info@swisspartners-advisors.com #resilience #portfoliomanagement #switzerland #wealthmanagement Alessandro Chiarenza Sandra Henriksen Jennifer Fengels Gerhard Gottet, CFA

At 1,075,000 acres, the Smokehouse Creek Fire is bigger than Rhode Island. The fire is now the second-largest fire ever in the U.S. Disaster declarations were issued by Governor Greg Abbott for 60 counties in response to the Smokehouse Creek Fire and three other #wildfires. Texas’ preparedness level increased to three, indicating they will need outside resources to help fight the fires. Learn more and how to help: https://bit.ly/4bzMGeR

In light of the recent events, we want to extend our thoughts and support to our cofounders John Hertrich and Eusebio Coterillo and their families who reside in #Florida impacted by Hurricane Milton🌪️💙 Amidst the aftermath of hurricanes Helene and Milton, communities across Florida are grappling with the enormous challenge of cleanup, often without the electricity and fuel needed to get the job done. Efforts to restore normalcy are being hindered by blocked roads, flooded areas, and fallen trees. Despite these obstacles, fuel suppliers and power companies are working tirelessly to repair the essential infrastructure. Meanwhile, law enforcement is playing a critical role in the recovery process by providing escorts for fuel tankers to ensure that much-needed resources reach the hardest-hit areas. We know that natural disasters can disrupt lives in countless ways, from physical safety to emotional well-being. During this challenging time, we are here for you and want to ensure you feel supported and cared for. Let’s stay connected and help each other out wherever possible. We’re stronger together, and we'll get through this as a team. Please stay safe, and remember that your well-being comes first. 🙏 #EmployeeSupport #HurricaneRelief #TeamStrength #StaySafe #SupportEachOther

Welcome to Florida, where Governor DeSantis REFUSES to allow incompetence from public officials involved in the hurricane cleanup. Check this out! County workers decided to leave the dump closed... despite an order from DeSantis for it to be left open 24/7 for cleanup to continue. So he used state police to rip it wide open. I LOVE MY GOVERNOR. REPOST and show America what REAL leadership looks like! #thinblueline #lawenforcement

For several years I have had the pleasure of observing Governor Ron DeSantis do public briefings on the hurricane disasters that routinely hit Florida. This demonstrates the way government is designed to work. 1. A dedicated staff is working behind the scenes to provide their boss (I use this affectionately when I think I’m observing great leaders) with all of details he/she needs to convey to the public. 2. He briefs us on the facts we need to know. And, he briefs from the heart. 3. He describes which resources are activated and how they are deployed (and he frequently tells us why they are deployed in that manner). 4. He briefs the citizens frequently. 5. He gets great response from a dedicated state workforce. 6. The state resources move quickly once the storm has moved through an area. 7. He routinely gives an after action debriefing. The primary role of government is to provide for the safety and security of its citizens. Florida GETS IT!
