A supply-chain shake-up that's got us laughing all the way! NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGCC) has revelaed it expects to save the equivalent of over 170 tonnes of CO2 annually with the ousting of outdated delivery methods for Nitrous Oxide. Currently the highly useful anesthetic is delivered using a centralised pipe system not dissimilar from water plumbing that leaves between 83 and 100% of the gas wasted before it even reaches patients. This system accounts for nearly 80% of the #CarbonFootprint for NHS anesthetics. A new handheld, refillable canister design will be fully implemented by the end of 2024 and beyond #NetZeroTransition progress the change is expected to save nearly £170,000 a year. Dr Andrew Beck, Consultant Anaesthetist at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, highlighted: "This is been a team effort over the last year and the benefits will be seen across the board.” A #ClimateConsious change that centres care, brought about by brilliant collaborations. It's smiles all around! At GreenBridge Associates collaborative solutions and community support are a sizeable part of what we do. Backed by expert consultancy, cutting-edge #CarbonAccounting technology and an expanding network of businesses all on their #NetZeroJourney, why not say hello? And connect your business to it's Net Zero goals, meaningfully. #NetZero #ClimateChange #ClimateAction #Sustainability #SupplyChain #SustainableSupplyChain #Scope3Emissions #Emissions #ESG Martin Johnston
