Together with The Biodiversity Consultancy, WWF Switzerland has developed a robust framework for assessing the potential impacts of investments or project interventions on biodiversity. On 23 April, we will show how different impacts of investment decisions on the five drivers of biodiversity loss can be directly compared. 

*Biodiversity insights* Today, we published a white paper on nature and biodiversity where we share our insights from engaging with more than 280 companies. We address five key questions: 1. Why is nature and biodiversity a critical agenda? 2. What motivated our engagements, and what have we discovered so far? 3. Based on our engagement, what are our reflections on the overall agenda in the context of the Global Biodiversity Framework and its ambitions? 4. The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services IPBES released two reports this week, with some powerful messages for auditors as well. https://lnkd.in/gjbNecBg 1) The Nexus Assessment: The report examines how biodiversity, water, food, human health, and climate are interconnected, with their interactions making isolated efforts ineffective. It argues that current governance structures often fail to address negative impacts on nature and calls for transforming siloed governance into more integrated, inclusive, equitable, accountable, coordinated, and adaptive approaches. 2) The Transformative Change Report: The report emphasizes that we need a system-wide, whole-of-society, and whole-of-government approach. Governments can drive this change by fostering policy coherence, implementing stronger regulations, using innovative economic tools, reforming harmful subsidies, and promoting international cooperation. So, what could government external auditors do? First, assess whether governments are working towards the above approaches. Second, SAIs should avoid remaining stuck with siloed approaches themselves. IPBES reports provide strong support for the INTOSAI WGEA work on policy coherence, our current nexus project, and planning of the 2026-2028 Work Plan. 🌿 Exciting News! New publication: "Aligning Financial Flows with the Global Biodiversity Framework: Translating Ambition into Implementation” 🌍 We are thrilled to announce the release of our new policy paper, developed within the Public Policy Advocacy working group of Finance for Biodiversity. The paper offers four recommendations, thirteen actions, and concrete global examples of successful implementation, with a focus on Targets 14, 15, 18, and 19 of the #GBF.
