When Barack Obama was the president, White House would get 10,000 letters every day from Americans. The staff would select ten letters that needed the President's attention. Most of them requested help or criticized the Government. Barack would respond to these ten letters daily for a decade to stay in touch with his people. They kept him in touch with what was really happening around the country. Once, a little boy sent him his homework, to which Barack Obama replied - "Good work, you only misspelt two". A New York woman lost her job, to which he replied- "I am rooting for you". A woman named Kathleen became the first in her family to get a college degree, and the President congratulated her. None of these letters expected a reply or had an idea if someone would read them. But the President responded to them. And when it came to making a decision for his people, he always had these letters in mind. Power is not in brutality but in caring for the people around you. It's about listening to people and their concerns and seeing what you can do to help them. Great entrepreneurs are known to put themselves in their staff shoes so they could help them better.
